I just found out today I have a job in a level 1 trauma center when I graduate! I am scared to death and excited. The director during my interview said that the best thing to do was to never be afraid to ask questions. I have heard it's importan...
All my life I have said the perfect job for me would be one where there was constant variety and change, travel, a sense of satisfaction from doing something that actually matters, and good pay. I had a degree in psych when I heard about travel nurs...
Be sure to go over all the little NCLEX question "tips." I got a lot of HESI questions right just because I knew the little trick they were trying to play, not the actual information. For example, If they give you a scenerio and ask you what you wo...
I agree with Tony, I learned the drug classes first also, and now when I learn a new drug I like to know what class it's in so I can understand it more. There are certain major side effects that go along with some drug classes. I would buy a pharma...
DEFINITELY, it will go by so fast it's unbelievable. I was thinking the other day about my first clinical day. I thought I was going to throw up for two weeks because I was so nervous. I had never even been inside a hospital before, and all we had...
I'm originally from Salt Lake. It is really pretty. It will probably be freezing, but sometimes Salt Lake has freak weather and it's warm. If you get a chance, go up in the mountains--up to Snowbird or Alta the ski resorts just to see the mountain...
No she did not draw up Mylanta in a syringe and bring it into the pts room--the needle attached, before being stopped. (Rumor from one of my clincal sites.)
I was really nervous before my leadership clinicals, we only had four 8 hr. shifts. It turned out to not be so bad. My preceptor was right there with me the whole time and I wasn't as independent as I thought I would have to be. It gave me a chanc...
I like to go to a coffee shop that has big cushy booths and lots of windows. They play classical music so it's very relaxing. Going somewhere to study helps because I can at least feel like I am going out and have a life, and the caffeine is helpfu...
I graduate May 13th also. I have completely lost all motivation. I have given up on studying completely, but I have 2 big term papers I have to turn in. They are on stupid topics that don't make sense and I don't know how I am going to write them-...

HA HA HA! :chuckle The first time I tried to put a Foley in a female I wasn't anywhere near the urethra, my instructor must have thought I was such an idot. They showed us on a diagram, but every woman is so different. Now I just aim high and never...

I would definately take the stats before nursing school. It is better to take it with algebra than with 18 hours of nursing credits and clinicals on top of it. You will be so glad you got it over with.
I'm in Springfield, MO. I have heard new grads start at 15.50 an hour here, 16.50 if I'm lucky. Cost of living is cheap, you can get a nice apartment for 600 a month, but the two hospitals here battle to keep wages low for us. :angryfire Too bad...
I graduate in 2 months and I did an ER externship last summer. It was the best thing I did in Nusing school. I learned more there than all my classes combined. I wanted to cry when it was time to leave it was so much fun and now I am positive I wa...
