  2. 58 years old - Am I too old to start nursing school??

  6. Excelsior college and State of Georgia

Hi Stephanie! Yes, in Georgia - because Excelsior is considered a Non-Traditional program - if you have not had a couple of years working as an LPN in Med-Surg or post-acute care in SNF, then you will have to do some hours. They just want you to do...

No clinicals does NOT mean "not legit." Excelsior's program is accredited and legitimate. Some states will accept you to sit for the NCLEX after completion and others will require that you go through a specific number of hours (due to no clinicals)...
  9. I think I might be in the wrong field

I would suggest continuing and completing the program. I had a similar situation when I was pursuing a PhD in Health Psychology many years ago....I actually got through the ABD status.....then realized the PhD was not for me - that I would have prob...
  10. DONE! (With exams at least....)

Hello. It is my understanding the FCCA is NOT an exam. I would think it would be very difficult to "collaborate" (does this mean I'm being accused of cheating??). Just like in brick and mortar environment, students have every right to talk and dis...

Okay- I am also on my Lifespan 1, 2, and 3 EXAMS! Let's stay in touch please! I have zipped through Excelsior fairly quickly only because I already had prerequisites and transferred all those in so only had to take nursing courses. I am also using...
  14. How to increase chances of Hiring

I have been searching for about 3 months - not that long really - I worked on utilizing some of my "background" experience in mental health (as a counselor) so that they could see I had a lot of "clinical" experience working with patients - even if n...
  15. Is Excelsior RN Program a good program??

Regarding EXCELSIOR and living in states other than New York, I am in Georgia. Georgia wants to see more didactic experience - so basically the difference is that once you complete Excelsior, you "may" have to complete an additional 350 to 450 hours...
