Hello, I am recent graduate and just received my license on 1/30. Its a bit ironic that I become interested in nursing since my childhood I spent in and out of hospitals. Until nursing school I never realize how important nurses are and I am glad I completed my diploma program. Nursing school was a phase in my life that I am sad to see ended, but immensely happy to be able to start working. I know I still have a long way to go since I want my MSN maybe in nurse anesthetist, but I am not 100% sure just yet. We will see what happens. For now I am looking for a job and working towards my BSN will start by Fall. Update: After about 5 months of looking for a job, I finally found. It's not a traditional setting: it's a call center, taking calls for pharmaceutical companies. Even though, it's not a clinical setting I am learning so much! It can be difficulty at times, since we document adverse events (basically anything that happens to a patient while on one of the products that particular pharmaceutical company makes) if you ever have to call a pharmaceutical company for info regarding a side effect or any medical information- you are most likely speaking to a RN or other HCP :). Also, I started the BSN program at Ohio University, completed first RN class and all my general classes except for my Eng 102- I am aiming for a fall completion date. Any questions, just PM me!

  6. ATI Testing for BSN Students

My school used ATI testings all the time and as some mentioned made us take the predictor test in order to graduate and take the NCLEX. I used Kaplan to help me get prepared for the NCLEX after taking the ATI and it helped me immensely.

Do not give up! Also, don't you need to actually complete a LPN program in order to take the exam?? If you have not taken a Kaplan course, then you must! This course will teach you how to answer questions which is usually the hardest part of the NCL...

Awesome! Is the class interesting? I think we do enough writing in the nursing classes as it is, is the English class even more writing intensive? Good luck!
  12. Transition from bedside to call center/triage?

Hello! Interesting I saw this post- I might have some insight as I work in a call center as a nurse. My job is a bit different - I do not triage per say. I work for a vendor, so nurses are hired to serve as licensed healthcare communicators for vario...
