    Hey Everyone,
I dont have a facebook so sorry for continuing to post on this thread but has anyone recieved their award information for 2012-13? Last year they had that information available way before summer even started and this year it seems like everything is slower. I have been checking courgarweb daily since March and keep getting the same message..."No award information is available at this time" Everytime I call financial aid they tell me that in 3 weeks awards should be send out and that was months ago now....I just wanted to see if it was just me or if everyone else is also still waiting?

I just stumbled across this post so I am sure you have figured it all out by now. However, from what I have read and heard you will definetly have an upper hand if you have your BSN as far as jobs go. However, Collin college now has the concurrent enrollment plan so I think for the cost and just a little extra time ADN to BSN is the way to go. But I am a little partial as I just got accepted to start in Fall 2012! If you have any other info on the issue please do share

    Hey Everyone,
Nursing School 10 is not cool with me!!!! I emailed the Director to get a list of everyone's email but havent heard back yet since its the weekend...anyway I am going to get a group together to work out 1-2 times a week over the summer. Might just be walking in a park or around campus but we can figure that out once we all get togther. It will be a good time to get to know one another and also work out a schedule that we can hopefully keep up once school starts. Anyway I figured I would let everyone on allnurses know now but hopefully once I can get everyone's email I can make it more formal. If you are interested in joining so we can work off the weight we will be gaining come August shoot me an email with your name and number. Hbrashear1@cougarmail.collin.edu It was so good to meet a lot of you and hopefully I can meet a few more of you over the summer!

I know orientation is in a few days but for anyone interested...you can now view Fall 2012 classes on cougarweb to see what our schedule will be like. Although I know its going to be very hard I was surprised that the schedule was not that bad (I am sure that will be made up in study time though)! The only thing you wont know for sure is the clinical since there is a combination of three different times/days for the clinicals. I also checked just out of curiosity semester 2 and 3 classes and the schedule is similar to semester 1 except the clinicals are longer. See everyone soon!

I handed mine in at the nursing office but I am sure if they didnt recieve it they probably called just to verify. I would just call up there...I do that for almost everything because I am paranoid :P Only 11 days!!! YAY!

Amen! Congrats ...and despite what some think it doesn’t take even one percent of one percent of God's brain to focus on you AND all the things going on in the world! Bless you for recognizing who makes all things possible and many blessings in your future nursing endeavors!

I actually have a similar question that relates to the issue of jobs being available. I have been browsing my local hospital job postings and it doesnt look like there are any shortages of positions available. I am located in the Dallas area and almost all the hospitals I have looked at have 15-30 RN positions open. The website has had that many openings for about 8 months when I first began browsing their websites. I know as a new grad those jobs might be harder to get because of no experience etc but is there any logical explanation for why their seem to be so many jobs available on paper? Not sure if its just the area or if there is another underlying reason there are so many positions not being filled even though so many people are saying there are no jobs....

Are you referring to only pre-nursing courses? I just got accepted into my program and although some of my classes before this seemed hard I am cautious before I say one of my pre-nursing courses was the most difficult. If that is what you were asking then my most difficult pre-nursing course was anything not related to nursing in some way. Classes that were required to graduate and boring were always hard for me because I wasnt motivated to go...like writing and composition or humanities. Although as a pre-nursing student you want to put all your focus on your science in math classes, dont forget about the so called blow off classes. They can kill your gpa and hurt your chances of getting into your program. Good luck in your educational pursuits!

Stupid question: Does anyone know if the orientation is only for students? I know its silly but my boyfriend(who I live with) is going to be very involved with my education and supporting me throughout school and I was wondering if they allow spouses or parents to be present. He will be paying for it, cleaning the house, and dealing with my meltdowns so I feel he has a right to be there :P

I am assuming they are requiring you to give a reason for retaking them? If not I wouldnt say anything. However if you are required just tell them you need to retake them for your current program and the credits are too old. Most schools, even the ones without nursing programs, understand that certain programs only accept pre-reqs taken in the last five years. I dont think there is any reason you should have to explain your personal reasons for stopping school the first time. And they shouldnt care anyway...its money in their pocket :P Hope it helps! Good luck!

My coffee habits change every few months and I rotate through my favorite ways to make it and/or favorite places to get it. Right now I am loving Mcdonalds Caramel Frapps.....they are more like a dessert than coffee. My other favorite is Dunkin Donuts coffee with extra cream and coconut flavoring yummm! And at home right now I am addicted to my new Kuering...Donut shop medium roast with almond joy creamer. I pray that one day I can find a job...but especially one where everyone loves coffee
