Note the MedSurg floors are ceil blue. Some departments have specialized colors. Im in IP Rehab and they just got their own colors--turquoise blue and galaxy blue.
  2. Rehab Nursing advice please...not a real nurse?

I just accepted a job in IP rehab and after a little time in orientation, there's no doubt in my mind that this is as "real" as anything else in the hospital. it's a specialty. Love to hear how its been after a year in acute rehab.
  3. South Georgia Medical Center

Ceil blue or white is the scrub color. I'm starting as an LPN at 15.65 per hour with shift diff for nights at 1.75 per hour. Weekends is an additional 1.75 per hour. I will be working 12 hour shifts. Hope that helps anyone looking at South Georgia M...
  4. South Georgia Medical Center

I'm bumping up this question so maybe someone new can answer. I have an interview with SGMC on Friday for an LPN position.
  5. It is unprofessional especially around patients. I try to hold my tongue when working in front of others. I will slip every once in a while, but a continuous habit of it would just be unacceptable to me.
  6. Too old 2 b R.N

I'll be 42 this summer and I'm planning on going for my RN starting this fall. Go for it. We are not old. We are in our prime.
  7. Georgia License Denial-Clock Hours

It does sound like the number of clinical hours in Ohio weren't the same as in GA. I wonder if you could do a few weeks under a preceptorship at a hospital and earn those hours to comply with the GA requirement. Did you work at all as an LPN?
  8. I'd do all nights. A shift mix really gets to you physically.
  9. When to apply for a job

I know I am an LPN responding to this but when I was in nursing school, I applied to the hospital prior to graduation. I worked as patient care until I got my license.
  10. In need of encouragement

I have a BA in English but I am an LPN. I push down the BA portion on my resume and highlight the nursing first. I also list my licensure before my schooling (I am licensed in GA and FL.) It seems to help give focus on what I want...an LPN job. Try a...
  11. New LPN starting Correctional job tomorrow! HELP!

I'm curious how it goes for you. I saw several correctional positions advertised near me, but was scared...
  12. Not so new grad, wondering the odds of finding work.

I'm trying to get back into nursing after being out of it for 10 years because I got pregnant with twins and stayed home with them. I have experience but it is so long ago, it is a hurdle to jump in finding a job now. I went ahead and did CE classes ...
  13. Any of you LPNs bridging to RN in your very late 40s

I'm 41 (will be 42 later this year) and I'm thinking of going back for my BSN. (I'm an LPN.) Why not? I'm in my prime.
  14. Attention lpn's of ga-in need of help

I'm trying to get back into nursing after taking time off to be home with my kids. I am having a hard time finding anything and I live in Southwest Georgia. I went ahead and applied for my Florida license and now I'm licensed there but LPN jobs are s...
  15. Excelsior: State Board Requirements

Very interesting. The recruiter from Excelsior couldn't provide me this info and tried to press me into the program. I need to research more before I can sign on...like how to get clinical credit. Thank you for the link.
