  1. I'm betting that this particular post will cause a stir. But I'm curious which nursing profession is considered to be the coolest or most exciting or over all glamorous job in the nursing field. Is it Flight Nursing, TCVPO, Cath Lab, ED, etc. Don'...
  2. What is the grossest thing that's happened to you???

So years ago when I was and ED nurse, now EP and Cath Lab. I had this poor little lady that had not been cared for at all. Her diaper looked like it weighed 10 lbs due to all the urine. As I tore the sides of her depends and opened it up I noticed th...
  3. EP Nurses

I am still considered a Cath Lab nurse however I rarely work in the lab and am practically a full time EP nurse. I really do enjoy it so much more than doing caths. The technology, skills, education, and working with so many people from the industry ...
  4. My wife and I met in our local hospital ED. She was a nurse and I was a tech in nursing school. We were sure to stay very professional when working together. We would never witness med wastes together or anything like that. But she has been the highl...
  5. What's your side job?

I'm a full time cattle farmer and Quarter Horse trainer as well as working three days a week in an EP lab.
  6. IVs in the breast

In my previous years in the ED, infusion centers, Cath and EP Labs I have started my fare share of INTs in the upper breast as well the Deltoid, Scapula area, Side of neck, all kinds of weird places. Just clean it well and stick, if its a good site y...
  7. Bullied? What the heck is this about?

Just sup dude? Like the No Shave November, I like it. Or compliment her side burns.
  8. Males considering nursing?

I had to pay my dues and work in an ED for several years that did involve cleaning and the such often. But now as a procedures nurse in a Cath/EP Lab and Interventional Radiology I Love it. I work with technology, take care of patients, learn to do s...
  9. The Stethoscope

I can't get over how we as nurses look so easily offended when as a profession we deal with so much worse when it comes to verbal abuse, bullying, and hard work. I have heard so much worse than a "Doctor's Stethoscope" and had to shrug it off because...
  10. Once again The View has tried damage control from the onslaught of enraged Nurses and Nursing Students related to the Stetho-gate debackle of 2015. I heard today that they invited a group of nurses on the show in order to show their love and apprecia...
  11. The Stethoscope

Does anyone else feel the same way as I do? Of course it was bad judgement on the View, but I think a lot of the back lash has actually made some of us nurses look bad and easily offended.
  12. The Stethoscope

    Hey I agree
  13. The Stethoscope

We truly are one of the most tolerant profession in the world. It just seems like we have not been acting like it.
  14. The Stethoscope

I"m sure that I will recieve a lot of negative comments from so many nurses. But I'm tired of this Stethoscope debackle. The View hosts are both ignorant and very opinionated, but one comment does not mean that they should be cancelled. I have been h...
  15. Cardiac arrest caused by a seizure

As a note you will see "seizure like" activity when a patient looses consciousness. So many times I've seen family and Staff freak out when a patient has passed out from having blood drawn or a student sees blood or smells something terrible.
