  1. CCMC vs ANCC

Hello! I am a BSN RN with 4 years Home Health experience, I started in Case Management and moved up to DON quickly. I am hoping to find a job working from home in Case Management. Though I have a BSN, I feel I need to learn more facets of Case Mana...
  2. After being promised a promotion and being put off for months, I have given my 2 weeks notice. As DON, who all do I need to notify at the State? Thanks!
  3. 1wk9

I was also under the impression that you always had to have an order to be in the home, so if the frequency changes because one decides an extra visit is needed, one must write an order that addresses why and discuss with CM & Physician.
  4. Working 12-14 hour days, am burning out.......

I know it's been several days since this thread started, BUT. You poor thing!! Unfortunately, the agency I work with now (which is my first HH experience) gives precious little training, and NOT much more than 1 SOC. It is NOT acceptable, but many ...
  5. I couldn't agree with you more, tcvnurse! I have only been a nurse about 2 years, and, of course, I started bedside. As we know, new nurses are taskmasters and have to learn over time how to see the whole picture. We also long for the job satisfac...
  6. Several questions from a new HH RN

    This is a good point, I hadn't thought of that. . . . .
  7. Homebound?

It's so sad, but I have seen this, too. There is a lot of pressure from above to "go ahead and admit", even when we know the patient isn't homebound. There have been times each of us have had to step up and say we simply will not put our license on...
  8. Several questions from a new HH RN

You SHOULD have to go through a check off process wherein you perform every skill, complete a quiz, and verbally walk through a procedure before doing one on your own as part of your orientation. I have never heard of anyone having to wear business ...
  9. Giving report on admit, recert, roc

It' so interesting to me to be able to read this thread. We have struggled for so long with field staff not calling in report. My DON doesn't force the issue, so for MONTHS, I have had to read clinical summaries to even find out the recommended fre...
  10. Question about HH job offer and Advice

    Missouri $65 SOC, $45 RCT & DC, $40 visit, $65 ROC. Mileage reimbursement= 0.43/mile
  11. The hospitals here require hospital experience within the last 2 years or they won't take you back. I agree with Tinderbox, try some agency work, that may give you an "in"
  12. Maximum number daily visits

We really don't like our LPNs to do more than 6 a day. By the time they drive to all the houses, call docs, write up paperwork, it's well more than an 8 hour day if they are doing a thorough assessment on each patient. I don't feel that it is safe ...
  13. My agency has contracted with a consultant company to help walk us through the process-Century 21. I also mentioned this training through Health Care Performance Institute, and they happily enrolled me in that, as well.
  14. Starting a Home Health Agency

I guess you can't PM me, because I haven't written 15 posts yet, I just joined. I will try to get in some more posts and maybe you can PM me then?
  15. Yes! I started out in the field as FFS, then became a Case Manager. I mostly manage from a desk now, but sometimes I get the rare opportunity to go out and see patients.
