  1. My first emergency

soon enough you'll be able to predict and know what's happening and what they're going to do
  2. Would you consider this cheating?

it's a natural response to want to talk about what happened and tell people how it went. is it cheating? well, it can be. consciously or subconsciously, the other students are getting tipped off. however, it wasnt handled properly..she shouldnt have ...
  3. Is this normal

Get over it. Quick. Everyone makes mistakes, and you should make them while you're in school. Like I've said before, first module is like kindergarten, it's only going to get harder. If you expect to keep getting A's on your test through the whole pr...
  4. There is math involved however, not much. What's important about pharm is the drugs and knowing what they do and their side effects. There are sooo many drug questions on NCLEX because that's primarily what LVN's do - pass drugs.
  5. This IS nursing school!

I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble but the first module is a breeze. There's a point in nursing school where 4.0 students stop caring about their grades and just feel lucky they passed. If you can pass med surge with NO fails, holy crap, you certa...
  6. Yes! sooo much! That's a reason why I started my blog...because I wish I had someone give ME tips and stuff. I wish I knew how to study better for myself, things I really needed and didn't get or things I had/were given but were useless in school/cli...
  7. Need some advice on working vs. not working.

A lot of my classmates work and have families. It is hard but they actually manage to do really well in class! Probably better than those without jobs OR children. I guess having children really motivates them. I hope it works out for you!
  8. So stressed..

wow. first week and already stressed on chapter 1 and 2? oh man...you have your work CUT OUT for you, girl lol wait until you get into med surge! anyway,
  9. RN vs. LVN

From what I've seen in hospitals, LVN's do the exact same work as RN"s except for running IV medication. So saying that LVN's only learn the "basics" is partially true but in the field, they do the same work. Anyway, if you don't mind being in school...
  10. Are you enjoying being a nursing student?

I never knew what I wanted to be...nursing kind of just fell in my lap (literally) and i started the month after. I'm almost done now and nursing school has been awesome! I'm so passionate about it now that I started a blog haha anyway, you definitel...
  11. Questions on best route to go

There's no ladder than goes from MA to nursing. They are two very different things. To be honest, the way I hear people get into nursing school (community college) is your name basically gets picked out of a hat. It's all about chance.
  12. Community College or University

Either way, we all take the same NCLEX exam. I honestly wouldn't bother going to a university to get LVN...really pointless since it's like the lowest branch of nursing. I don't think most universities even have an LVN program. Unless you're going fo...
  13. No CNA Experience

uh..you can get your CNA cert after 6 months of nursing school...but it's pretty pointless to start as a CNA after graduating. besides, didnt you do CNA work during clinicals?? that experience counts. i guess what you mean instead of CNA experience, ...
  14. Finally ordered my stethoscope

To be honest, I'd rather get a single head stethoscope. That's what the nurses on the floor use in meg surge. it's cheap (about $2 - $5) super light weight, and practical. It sucks having a large heavy steth around your neck, especially when you're r...
  15. How do you study?

I'm a writing and auditory learner so I just write notes on everything in lecture or if they're going by the book, I highlight/underline the important things and write on the margins as well as write on a separate piece of paper so I can later go thr...
