  1. Brenau University Part-time BSN Spring 2012

As an update: I was told by Brenau that we should be getting our orientation packages by October.
  2. Brenau University Part-time BSN Spring 2012

I haven't applied to any yet. It's hard to find any that look legitimate or that look like I stand a chance to get. I'm hoping that there are some to apply to in our packet! I'll keep looking though...
  3. Brenau University Part-time BSN Spring 2012

If you did your FAFSA and listed Brenau, then I was told by a Brenau aid councelor that we will get an award letter in the mail. When I called, she said they were only dealing with Fall semester students. Of course, she said to go ahead and apply ...
  4. Is Obamacare good for the nurses?

I think the intent is to separate health insurance from your employer. I do believe it is awkward to have your place of employment be your only affordable source of insurance. I can't think of too many downsides to this separation unless the price ...
  5. Nursing Conspiracies - Do I Need a Tinfoil Nurse's Cap?

I'm glad many of you DO get the idea here! It's not that actual real things that happen are portrayed as false, but that the connections we make to explain them are often... quirky or even funny. And, that's the entertaining stuff. :) Just like M...
  6. Brenau University Part-time BSN Spring 2012

I'm not sure about the Liberal Ed requirements. Since I have a BA degree, I'm excluded from all of that. I have the Major Requirements to take: Major Requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HS 2...
  7. Brenau University Part-time BSN Spring 2012

I'm feeling it too... "sitting on GO" as they say! That's good advice about the patho. I've been listening to a free university patho class that's really good and interesting: http://faculty.css.edu/gcizadlo/Patho2004/index.htm. I have a "patho ma...
  8. Nursing Conspiracies - Do I Need a Tinfoil Nurse's Cap?

That's more like what I was talking about!
  9. Nursing Conspiracies - Do I Need a Tinfoil Nurse's Cap?

Nah. That's not really what I was shooting for. I think my intended topic may be a little too esoteric to convey in this format. And, unfortunately, my chosen examples hit the "third rail" of Nursing. Maybe I'll think of a better way to phrase it...
  10. Brenau University Part-time BSN Spring 2012

Hi KelleyAnne! I've mailed my deposit, but haven't heard a response. I plan to call in a few days if I don't get a receipt or a package to confirm my confirmation (lol!). I'll let y'all know if/when I hear anything new. Thanks for the congrats! ......
  11. Background check can't locate employment history

In my experience with government jobs, they may ask you to write a short statement that explains where you worked and that the company is no longer in business. I doubt it will negatively impact your chances.
  12. Nursing Conspiracies - Do I Need a Tinfoil Nurse's Cap?

I suppose I need to clarify. I didn't intend to say that the issues don't exist or are not negatively affecting lives. I want to identify ultimate causes instead of proximate causes. Sometimes we put such a simple answer on these things because it...
  13. Nursing Conspiracies - Do I Need a Tinfoil Nurse's Cap?

I'm sure EVERY topic has been exhausted on allnurses.com. About a million posts pretty much guarantees it. It's the conspiracy part of it that hasn't really been explored that well. The logic and thought and critical thinking behind these complex ...
  14. I know it's human nature to want to place blame for our misfortunes, and instead of realizing the complex nature of things, we like to find the "real reason" for why things are the way they are. That brings us to conspiracy theories. I have seen th...
  15. money

Thank you for your kind words xtxrn! I'm happy to see that not ALL nurses are miserable. Maybe just a lot of allnurses? It does seem to be a bit of a pity-party on this forum. In keeping with the theme of this thread, money is a valid reason to be...
