  1. Scared & Confused

I've just recently transferred to the ED. The experienced nurses said they didn't truly feel comfortable for almost a year. Find one experienced nurse each shift and use them as a resource. You're still going through growth pains. Stay the course.
  2. mercy medical center in Baltimore??

    I would call nurse recruitment.
  3. New grad looking for employment!!!

Try Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore County. They've been hiring new grads. You might have to have a BSN though.
  4. Anybody here goes to Washington Adventist/Columbia Union?

My husband graduated from there and loved it. He wasn't in the Nursing Program but he said all of the instructors are good. I'd consider it if I were you.
  5. Harford Memorial and UCMC???

Sorry it took so long to reply. New Grads are starting at $25/hr so I'd guess it's a little more than that. Good Luck!
  6. Harford Memorial and UCMC???

I work at UCMC in Bel Air. I really like it there. Harford Memorial is an older hospital but I hear the staff is very friendly. Either one would make a good choice. Not interested in Christiana?
  7. Hopkins Bayview salary

  9. New grad relocating

The Abingdon/Bel Air area is pretty nice and somewhat diverse. Abingdon is more diverse than Bel Air. If you're looking at Abingdon make sure to ask what school district you would fall under. Some have to go to Edgewood Schools which I would stay awa...
  10. Where can i take a CNA class for certification...so confused.....

The community college where I live offers the CNA classes. I think it's a series of classes that last about a summer long. You should check with the community colleges in your area. Also, hospitals might offer classes as well.
  11. Patient First in Maryland?

I have a friend who is working there while she is in nursing school. She loves it. She gets paid pretty well too and she's not even a RN yet. I think she makes around 18-20/hr.
  12. Gbmc

I've heard both good and bad things about GBMC. I guess it all depends on which department you work. I heard the E.R isn't great but a friend is doing an internship in the NICU and loves it.
  13. What's better: Nurse Extern or LPN???

I live in Maryland and I'm working in as a Nurse Extern. The LPN's at our hospital have the same job description as a tech. They don't give any kind of meds and are responsible for am care, answering call bells, and duties like that. As a extern, I s...

  15. Day Shift vs. Night Shift

I'm a nursing student right now and am working as a nursing student tech at a hospital on the night shift. It is very hard. I've only been doing it for three weeks but I never know when I'm coming or going. I know it's great if you have kids but my m...
