  3. Just took PSB for UPMC Mercy, ask away!

That part had me the most stressed as well...but I got a 91 in the science...96 in Math, 98 in verbal....pretty good...except that I only got a 55 in reading comprehension! Like I said above, I got hung up on a section and didn't get many questions ...
  4. well after all of that....I took the PSB exam and scored from 91-99% in Math, Science, Verbal and vocational adjustment...but scored way low on the reading comp for some weird reason. I read a ton, so I am not sure what happened. I think I got real...
  5. Very true! I got married young at 23 and had my first child at 25...then my biological clock just ran out of 'tick' and I couldn't get PG again. We ended up adopting 3 beautiful perfect children (1 from Russia, 2 from China) that I couldn't imagine...
  6. I'm currently applying to schools. My family is completely supportive, and so are the friends I've told. I'm not really telling that many people until I get accepted somewhere. I didn't mean that the schools would make you feel freakish...they see...
  7. Third career change for me! I have two BS degrees...the first in communication disorders and I worked under a SLP for a number of years doing speech therapy for severely handicapped adults. Then, I had kids and stayed home for several years and wen...
  8. PSB for LPN

I took the PSB this month - but it was for the RN program so I'm not sure how different it is. I heard it is the same except for some of the science, but I'm not sure.... Anyway, the math was basic 8th grade math. No geometry or very complicated al...
  9. Hi All, I took the PSB entrance exam last week and received my scores in the mail today. high 90's in all subject areas EXCEPT reading comprehension! I failed that part....I don't know how as I am a voracious reader, but I obviously did not transl...
  10. PSB RN Test

I wish I had better news....I got my scores today and while I scored above the 90th percentile in most categories, I scored below the 65th percentile in Reading Comp, so I cannot apply to UPMC Mercy unless I retake the test and score better. I'm not...
  11. NEED INPUT!! Think this will get me into school?

Because I have too much time on my hands (not!) I did a little research. First of all, the Apollo Group is the parent of UOP so in that small way, the story makes sense. However, the Apollo group has nothing whatsoever to do with GCU other than seve...
  12. NEED INPUT!! Think this will get me into school?

If you are REALLY wanting to go to nursing school, and the schools you are applying to take GPA to be their highest determining criteria, then yes...it will hurt you to try to explain away your issues. As unique as your issues might seem to you - and...
  13. Citizens school of nursing

That's a really good point and one I hadn't considered. All of the diploma schools seem to graduate at the end of June, with the CC's graduating at the beginning of May. I wonder how much of an impact that will have on job searches? One of the ben...
  14. Citizens school of nursing

well that is good information to know. Although when I talked to them, they told me that they had July and August off just like Mercy. I am interested in Mercy because it is such a large hospital and because they are a level I trauma center. I've ...
  15. Citizens school of nursing

Any idea if they liked citizens? I've heard BCCC is a good program as well. I'm unfortunately on the other side of the city. I got to WCCC now for my sciences, but I really feel a diploma school is the best fit for me right now. I have a BS degree al...
