  1. Maryland Board of Nursing Horrors

You can, and I would suggest doing that. I got mine at the office after many reports of people never receiving theirs in the mail after they requested numerous times. It might make a trip for you, but it's worth the hassle I'd say!
  2. Johns Hopkins new grad 2011

They have start dates literally every month for new grads. There are no deadlines for applying but rather it's on a rolling basis (dependent upon departmental needs).
  3. Johns Hopkins new grad 2011

By the way, for those of you who are starting on the 25th, what day are you moving into town?
  4. Johns Hopkins new grad 2011

Hi guys, I mentioned before in other posts that I too am starting July 25th in Crit Care (Congrats Pokytrokyt on the job!) and I've been doing a ton of research about places to live in Baltimore and I've been down there twice to check out the city...
  5. Pre-Employment Colorblind Test

I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum before, so here I am to correct my error! My boyfriend has a pre-employment colorblind test next week at a large Trauma center on the East Coast. He's never been officially diagnosed as colorblind but fin...
  6. Oh wonderful! I'll see you at orientation on July 25th! I'm on your (kind of sister) unit the Cardiac Surgical ICU. Enjoy your good news! ~Liz
  7. Hi Pokytrokyt, First off, congrats on getting your interview! As people told me, that's a great accomplishment in itself. As for the interview, even in the specialities and sub-specialities, I'm getting the feeling that each manager has their own ...

Ah, apartment reviews, I know! Sometimes I think I should just stop reading them, otherwise I'll *never* find a place to live. I'm spending two days next week doing the apartment hunting gig - I'll share with you what I find. Maybe it'll help you! B...
  9. Advice for "seasoned" individual going for RN

Coming from someone who has lived in and been educated (BSN, RN) in NE, it's a very tight market up here for nurses, ADNs in particular. Certain hospitals within these states are specifically only hiring BSN nurses; I've also heard that certain state...
  10. Brand New Nurse - need advice

Where in the country did you get hired right out of school into the Nursery/PP? I only ask because my best friend is trying to get into that area as a new grad and has found all doors closed. As a new grad, one of the best pieces of advice I've hea...
  11. I've spoken at great length with many of them - I believe any of them would be more than willing to help. If they aren't able to answer your questions, they are usually quick to transfer you to another recruiter or someone who can.
  12. Hi Moej, I'm also a new grad who will be in the Hopkins Residency (not Peds, though, but Cardiac Critical Care) and will be coming from another state. Like Sweetie85 said, definitely talk with the recruiters; I've never come across individuals more...
  13. Pearson Vue Trick - Does it Work Every Time? Part 2

Thankfully another success story - got the good pop up yesterday after taking the boards and at 8 am this morning I could see my name and license number on the NH board of nursing. Whew, thank goodness that's over!

Oh boy, thanks for the heads up about actually needing to go there in person for this stuff. I'm in Sweetie85's position of being a new grad to start July 25th and moving down from NH. I'm headed down there next week also, and this (along with apartm...
