About TNTD2011
I'm back in school to become a nurse practitioner - specifically certified nurse midwife. I am hoping that I can work as a NICU nurse in the interim. I have spent a lot of time in the NICU - with having a child in the NICU and being a NICU volunteer. I've been volunteering with Precious Beginnings for 7 years. Precious Beginnings is a non-profit organization that supports parents and families in the NICU. We're all parents of NICU graduates. I'm also a volunteer at Legacy Emanuel. (www.precious-beginnings.org) (Precious Beginnings is a very unique organization with a special mission. Our volunteers and our organization’s sole mission is to “Touch the Life of Each Family in the NICU in a Positive and Lasting Way”.) My son was born 2 months premature and spent 4 weeks in the NICU at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in 2002. I had preterm labor on more than one occasion with my daughter and was on 10 weeks of bed rest. I had many complications with her. She was delivered at 36 weeks via C-Section early January of 2006.
