Whatever...so it was worded incorrectly..does it really matter? It still amazes me how people can be nitpicky on forums over seemingly unimportant verbiage.
  2. Maternal loss due to DIC

Our facility has been absolutely wonderful to the staff involved and the family. We had a debriefing and the hospital staff and physicians have donated money for her funeral, supplies for the baby and children in the family as well as providing Chri...

  4. Maternal loss due to DIC

I read on the forum from time to time, but have rarely posted. However, I had to write today just to talk about a situation that happened recently. For the first time in nearly 30 years at our facility, we had a maternal death. I was one of the nu...
  5. Orientation?

I've been at my job in L&D for just over 90 days now and I got 12 weeks of orientation...6 weeks on days and then 6 weeks on nights, then my regular shift is on nights.
  6. What's the weirdest baby name?

I thought the "ABCDE" name was a myth, but a co-worker told me that a mom on our unit actually did name her child "Abcde" (Ab-se-duh) and could name the room she was in. A recent baby was named Belldandy Lunamoon...seriously...

Our hospital plays Braham's Lullaby whenever a baby is born...the mom's and their families love it. It plays throughout the whole hospital.

  9. Loving my job!!!

I've been an RN for nearly two years now, but have spent most of that as a home health nurse. I lived in a very rural area and it was the best choice for that time in my life. However, my husband just accepted a new job as a police officer in a new t...

  12. Southeaster OK CC nursing programs

I'm currently in my second semester in the nursing program at Eastern Oklahoma State College and it is an excellent program. I would definitely give them a try as I didnt have to wait to be accepted in last year...and they just received a million + ...
  13. Teaching resources??

I'm preparing to teach a 15 minute session in a prenatal class next week and wondered if anyone had any good resources for finding free literature for handouts and teaching resources. My topic is on Shaken Baby Syndrome, and I've got all of the data...
  14. Test #4 down....clinicals here I come

Our program has guidelines that say you have to be passing theory when clinicals start or you can't go. That means having a 69% average when clinicals start. You have to have 75% to pass the course at the end of the term. Our clinicals themselves ...
  15. Well, I managed to get that 4th test done on 4 hours of sleep this morning. I wasn't up because I was studying...just couldn't sleep. I got 96/110 on the test so that's an 87%. My overall course grade is an 85%...a B...I'm still shocked. I think ...
