  1. ADN NP's...?

I guess some people think that you need years and years of experience before even attempting to pursue a nurse practitioner program. I on the other think that while it may be helpful, I don't think one has to have over 10 years experience working as...

  3. Racial discrimination in Nursing....

They probably started yelling back at you because no one wants to be "SCOLDED!" Try talking to them in a normal, adult like voice. It's much more mature and civilized.
  4. General age of nursing students

It shouldn't be a problem. I was barely 20 when I started the program and was the youngest. When I started working as a staff nurse, I was also the youngest for a very long time until one person came to our unit who was a few months younger than I ...
  5. Have you ever given the 'Nurse Dose'???

When I worked as a staff nurse, that would be a big NO! I have NEVER heard of a "nurse dose." Maybe because I worked in peds. Either way, don't you think it's a tad unethical and not to mention illegal.
  6. My boss is out of control!

You need to find another job. Goodness... tell her to get a life!!!
  7. BSN requirement for all RNs

Your BSN program sounds great. May I ask which university you attended? Were prereqs integrated throughout the curriculum? Wish we had programs like that here in California, unless they already do and I am just unaware. Thanks...
  8. BSN requirement for all RNs

If you think that the 2 extra years in the BSN program are filled with such things like music appreciation, then you must not have your BSN. At the top of my head classes that were required in the BSN program but not the ADN program included pathophy...
  9. If what you are saying is true, then why don't you report him to the proper authorities and the school as well. Your school has the responsibility of protecting you. You are paying tuition so they should do something about it. Let me be frank here, ...
  10. BSN requirement for all RNs

Idealistically, yes. But until we have enough nursing professors and universities willing to keep their BSN programs open, it is not going to happen any time soon unfortunately.
  11. LPN/RN the big picture???

Unfortunately ADN programs have too many applicants than it can handle. So with that said, if you feel that going the LPN to RN route fits your life, I say you should do it. Plenty of people have done that and it is not a waste of your time nor money...
  12. Importing nurses from the Phillipines

Then I guess you just answered your own question of "If as you have shown that the phillipines is the 3rd largest english speaking country, why do we have so much problem understanding what they say." You acknowledge that even Americans have proble...
  13. Importing nurses from the Phillipines

The reason why it may be hard to understand them is due to their accent. They are speaking English for goodness sakes. It's amazing that you understand what is being written here since you don't speak English. Oh and by the way, there is no such thin...
  14. I whole heartedly agree with you. The OP needs to stop focusing all of her energy on why she thinks she is not doing well. Practice for goodness sakes. It really sounds like you are a tad bit paranoid. I NEVER had any CNA experience when I was in...
  15. I don't know if I agree with you on her wanting to fail you. She asked you to go outside to probably help you regain your composure. Getting a breath of fresh air sometimes does the job. I have to say that a failing student IS something to be conc...
