  3. Why do Doctors think they are................God!!

After reading these posts, I am SO grateful for the docs on my floor. They are all so wonderful and so open to suggestions and even joke around with us nurses. This is my first job as an RN and I am very spoiled! These posts prepare me for what to ma...
  4. I was in your same position. I was offered a job at a facility before I went for an interview for a position at a hospital I really wanted to be at. I accepted the position and then rescinded my decision when I was offered my desired position. I don'...
  5. A payroll card instead of a check???

The places I have worked that offered a card like that offered it as an alternative for.those without checking accounts. It`s then a really good idea because you have access and the choice to have a card to use if needed/desired. Yes, if you need cas...

Us too!! It's nice to not have to feel guilty if you just need to have a mental health day.
  11. Do RN's in Indiana think they are adequately compensated?

I'm a nurse of 3 months and I find that my starting base rate of $22/hr with $3.60-$5 differentials in downtown Indianapolis is a lot! Then again, I'm in mid 20s without children and not married.
  12. Compassion required???

I wouldn't consider myself a very compassionate person, yet I love my job. I always said I wanted to work in OR to have "little patient contact as possible." I love my job because I learn everyday. I don't feel like you can say that about many other ...
  13. 2nd degree BSN vs. Nursing Master's

I meant to say JUST a simple explanation. I thought your "its not a new topic to the board" comment was unnecessary. Maybe you weren't trying to be rude, you can never tell through posts how people are saying things. If not, sorry for getting defensi...
  14. 2nd degree BSN vs. Nursing Master's

And thanks to the others for the info :)
  15. 2nd degree BSN vs. Nursing Master's

That's why I said I don't understand. I didn't realize there was such a program out there. I don't spend my free time constantly reading "the boards" to know that it's even been mentioned on here. A simple explanation would have been great.
