  1. LPN 7 Years Experience Needs INFO STAT!

There have been some ads in the Dayton paper for LPNs in LTC, you can look online for them. Also some LTCs in Washington Courthouse have been hiring recently. Pay is lower in the rural areas though, usually $16-18 for an LPN.
  2. Do you need an RN lisence to be a LNHA

Are you talking about being a nursing home administrator? It probably depends on your state. In Ohio you do not need to be an RN to be the administrator but there are education requirements. You might want to contact your state to find out.
  3. Workplace cliques

I work in LTC and the cliques are terrible at my facility. We actually have groups of nurses and aids that look for every tiny mistake a coworker makes and then report to the DON.

If a patient says things incorrectly I don't mind nearly as much as when a fellow nurse does. During school I had a preceptor in the surgery department frequently refer to the OR room. Really? Operating room room? Drove me nuts. Same for ER room...
  10. RN in ltc

I think it depends on the facility. The RN staff where I work perform the same tasks as the LPN staff with a few extras like admission assessments, running TPN, managing PICC lines etc
  11. oxygen sTaturations

When I worked in orthopedics I hated rotator CUP. Orientate drives me crazy as well.
  12. Any Other Mid-Life Students?

I graduated in 2010 at 39 years old. I stayed at home with my children until they were in junior high and high school before going to school to get my BSN. I did start my pre-reqs online when they were in middle school, but I did my school work whi...

Clark State Community College in Springfield, Ohio has a paramedic to RN program
  14. RN's...in demand if willing to relocate?

I'm in southern Ohio and couldn't agree more.
  15. Authorization to test in Ohio

I graduated Nov 20, our letters went out the Nov 22, received my ATT Dec 7 and I tested Dec 20. I could have tested as early as Dec 9. However, some of my classmates did not receive their ATT until Dec 14 week. You may be able to test by the end ...
