  1. Has Anyone Ever Interview at Baker School of Nursing?

I wish I would've seen your thread earlier. I interviewed w/ Baker and have been admitted for Spring '07. The interview was really very basic, very low-key, which really balanced my anxiety. I'm sure by this point you've had your interview, but jus...
  2. please make this make sense

Thanks so much. Encouragement can really take the sting out for a little while.
  3. please make this make sense

I cannot leave the area. Besides owning our home and 10 acres, my husband & I have 8 children between us. At Baker, if you are good enough you will be selected to interview. It's an achievement just to get that. Then it's the praying game. If ...
  4. please make this make sense

I applied to Baker School of Nursing on Stormont-Vail's campus.
  5. please make this make sense

I know I just posted, but I wanted to tell you that I emailed my school's recruiter and asked if I should consider re-taking any classes to make me more competitive and if so, which ones would she suggest. She emailed me back and said she wouldn't a...
  6. please make this make sense

The nurse you speak didn't seem to take it too seriously, I've was single mom at one time also. The thing is, my GPA is pretty darn good. I have only two Bs and the rest are As! I understand retaking classes if I got average or lower grades, but it...

  8. please make this make sense

Hi, guys. I'm not yet a student nurse, but I wanted feedback from those of you who are. I am really in the need for some advice, or some "hey babe, been there" stories. First, my story (bear w/ me!): I'm 34 and have dreamed of being a nurse since ...
  9. Impending daycare for 2yo twins/1 income

I never thought about student loans...I guess that could be the last resort. Is anyone here from Kansas? "kiyatylese" mentioned a program in Texas called "WorkForce"...was wondering if anyone knew if we had it here or even where I could check.
  10. I am starting nursing school in the fall of '06. It will be a fulltime program and the suggestion is to not work the first semester. They further suggest that if a student wishes/needs to work in the second semester, to work as a PCT or PRN in one ...
  11. Post-It Note Lanyards

It didn't look like it was added with a clip. The Post-It Notes were on a blue plastic base, though. So maybe the base was attached to the lanyard somehow. It would still be a great thing to have. I'm not having much luck, though.
  12. Post-It Note Lanyards

Does anyone know where I can get a lanyard that holds Post-It Notes? I saw one in a picture and it looked like the lanyard was made to specifically hold them. I have looked on most of the common sites (Lydiasuniforms.com, allheart.com, etc.) and ha...
  13. Lotus Birth...What do yall think about this?

Yeah, and it's called "cannibalism"!! :barf02:
  14. How much do you use your A and P?

I'm currently in Micro and given how my class is being taught, I'm surprised (and a bit worried) that you said it is quite important. At the beginning of the semester, I fully expected it to play a huge role in the nursing process, too. I am, so far...
  15. Student Nurses...How long did U wait?

My sister-in-law attended Baker (class of '96) and even then (before the shortage), she had to wait two semesters. She's now been an RN for 8 years. I can handle having to wait 2-3 semesters. The students and faculty said that is about the average...
