    11P-7A 56 patients with 1 nurse and 4 CNA's! And being in charge means to do staffing for the day shift which means taking the call offs and calling 20 people to try and replace them, while trying to pass meds for the 56 people!

    All you can do is give them the information and hope they chose a different facility next time. If you can visit her and ask questions I would regardless if they think Im obnoxious its your loved one.
  8. Acute care burnout

    I also became burned out in the acute care arena. I went back to LTC and love it. I am really busy, just as acute care, but the stress is lots less. Good luck in finding your place.

  10. Small nose piercings at work?

    Most rules say to not wear them but I have seen many nurses with them and I barely notice them because they look like a speck of glitter. I would not wear them in clinical school situations but it should be ok for jobs so long as it is very tiny.

  14. Exactly how do you study? Alone in groups, reading, writing, etc. Maybe you need to add different techniques. I myself learned more by writing. Some learn more by listening so they taped lectures to listen to them later.

    11P - 7A! I have also worked 7p - 7A and wouldnt change my hours for anything they work best for my family and my sanity!
