About SlumberingCub

SlumberingCub has 2 years experience.

I went to Southern Connecticut State University where I achieved my BSN. I had to move 300 miles away from my home a year after I graduated to get my first nursing job because there just wasn't anything available for new grads at the time. I have recently been able to move back to my hometown and will be starting my new job soon! Outside of nursing, I enjoy gardening, volleyball, fishing, going to the ocean, taking walks in the woods, and spending time with my family and friends.

I recently had a patient going for a kyphoplasty, and she was convinced the doctors were going to inject seamen into her spine. She completely misunderstood when the doctor said "cement" and heard semen instead.
  2. Which would you recommend?

I've got plantar faciitis as well, and I just bought some Danskos a few months ago, and I absolutely recommend them. They are very supportive, and they have never hurt my feet. They have wide sizes as well as regular. And the patterns are fabulous. I...

  5. To the unemployed new grads... what ARE you doing?

I graduated in May 2009, and I just FINALLY got a nursing job. I had to move to another state and 5 and 1/2 hours away from home to get a job, but at least it's a foot in the door. Before that I was working at Kohl's Department Stores to try to make ...
  6. Can I be a LPN with a RN license?

I don't know what part of NY you are from, but I do know that Canton-Potsdam Hospital is looking for RN's. After a year of not being able to get a job, they just recently hired me. I moved there all the way from CT. Its alwyas worth a try. Good luck ...
  7. Why don't I have a job right now?

I hear you. I graduated in May 2009 and passed the NCLEX in September 2009, and I still have not been hired. Every interview I have gone too, another "more qualified" person has been hired over me. It is extremely frustrating and a bit depressing som...
