  1. Test "on hold"

I took the NCLEX today 6/28 also. My results are also "on hold" according to Pearson. I have no idea why. I didnt leave, didnt take a break, and didnt even touch my white board until question 10 or so.
  2. It depends on the school, but I don't think you can have each step done at 2 different places. I work at an urgent care clinic, and we do really cheap shots and physicals, so we get alot of health students - and when they come in wanting step two, b...
  3. Naproxen question

It is the stomach one. Usually before prescribing naproxen the dr finds out if the patient has a history of stomach problems. Excessive naproxen use leads to gastritis, ulcers and gastric bleeding
  4. How often do you study?

My school breaks down a little different, we do all the a&p, micro, nutrition, etc, then we start clinicals AFTER that, so most people only have one class - they group the class, clinical and lab together so its one unit and counts as 12 credits,...
  5. Varicella titer/TB Skin test?

I would wait until next year honestly. I know my school wants everything recent, meaning a TB test only within 3 months prior of classes beginning, they wont accept any background checks, physicals, etc if they are done too far in advance.
  6. Is engraving bad?

I have a littman as well and had it engraved. Sadly, stethoscopes are often swiped by other students, a nice one is expensive. With my name on it, I know it wont go missing.
  7. Help with Pharmacology homework

I don't know what text you have but mine had off-label uses next to each drug, and I cant think of the name but there was an parkinson's drug that became an anti-viral med, and alot of psych drugs have off label uses too welbutrin is used for depres...
  8. how to study for pharmacology/how often

My method for studying all of my classes is the same - about 20-30 minutes per class 2-3 times per day, every day as a constant review. I review the pp, and I review my own notes. Then 2 -3 days prior to a test/quiz I re-write my notes, then review...
  9. Unemployment Benefits when you are a student?

I was working full time and when I returned to school last summer they wouldnt let me step down to work part time and I was laid off. I now work part time 20-25 hours a week and collect partial unemployment. Thankfully in my state the benefits shou...
  10. unit secretary?

I am in the same position actually. I applied for a NA job, and just had an interview 3 days ago, however, when I applied I was told I only needed my CPR certification, which I have but once in the interview I was told I needed a year of clinical ro...

  12. Nervous about A&P I

I was terrified going into A&P and it only got worse when I learned I had the hardest prof at my school. I got an A - but I worked my butt off. He didnt use the book, but I re-wrote lecture notes daily, multiple times to get the material into my...
  13. Just talked to a nurse- I feel so down & anxious

dont get down - when you graduate the job market will be different than it is now anyway, a great deal also depends on the area - my area is in desperate need of nurses and they hire grads before they even take the nclex (obviously with a contract st...
  14. Luzerne CC LPN-to-RN program

Im at LCCC now, and I pray getting into the nursing program for the fall. It is very challenging. It will only take 2 years, but because of that all information is crammed into a short period of time. I know a few LPNS at LCCC, attempting to get i...
  15. which school for nursing; Wilkes or Misericordia?

I am also at lccc, I am hoping to get into their program but also applied to Miseri - which is where I would suggest. A minimum 3.0 is required, and they look at how many pre-reqs you completed, they also look at your high school GPA, min. 3.0 and S...
