  1. I need some advice,please!

I am coming upon my first full year of nursing. I have had two jobs within the past year. The first one was the first job offered to me and I felt wayyyyyy in over my head. It was a busy ICU floor. I worked with really great people there and they wer...
  2. Time frame for job hopping???

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how long must you stay at a job until it is no longer considered job hopping? I have been nursing for just shy of a year and am currently on my second job as a RN. The first position I took straight out of scho...
  3. Thinking of going back to school

I graduated from Walters State back in Dec.2010. I currently have a job but it was not my first choice. To be honest it was the only job offered after more than 20 applications. Basicly, the market for ADN nurses is way down. Most hospitals are wanti...
  4. New grads: Any difficulties landing a position in O.R

I graduated in Dec. 2010 from an ADN program and have found it very difficult to even land an interview for an OR position. Most of the hospitals in my area only want to hire BSN grads so as a ADN grad I took the only thing that was offered. I am hop...
  5. Am I still considered a new grad? Please help.

Thanks marlboroking and AngelicDarkness. I can only hope that I do well in the interview on Monday. If it is meant to be it will be. Thanks everyone for all your responses.

Thank Argo for the encouragement. I can only hope that I recieve a job offer.
  7. Am I still considered a new grad? Please help.

Thank you mbarnbsn and onaclearday for your input too. I understand that this is just an interview at this point and not a job offer (which I hope it leads to). I also understand that I am still in the probationary stage at my current job and would m...
  8. Am I still considered a new grad? Please help.

Thanks for your help. I really want this job! I was just afraid that once you accept your first job that you are no longer considered a new grad.
  9. I was called a couple of days ago to interview for my dream job, which is a graduate nurse postion in the OR. I passed boards in March so I now have a license. I already accepted a job in critical care at another hospital and have only been there 1 1...

  11. Scores On Kaplan Question Trainers

Your scores look good. I felt that the NCLEX reflected trainers 6 and 7 the most. Just take your time on 7 and aim for 60%. Try to relax the day before taking the NCLEX and just do a quick review of lab values, infection control and then let your bra...
  12. Kaplan VS. ATI for RN NCLEX prep

I would suggest using Kaplan. Tough questions, that I felt were more difficult than NCLEX and the decision tree really helps especially when your completely unsure of an anwser. Best of luck to you and your classmates.
  13. March 2011 Test Takers Support Group

Clee, the PVT trick seems to be accurate. It worked for me and many others on here. All I did was the PVT trick, when I got the good pop up I told myself that I had passed and decided not to do the quick results even though they were available 48 hou...
  14. My NCLEX stop at 75q???...is that good thing or bad thing?

JMO but I think you can gauge how well you do on NCLEX by the number of alternative style questions you get. Those are considered higher level questions and you have a greater chance at missing those, so I don't think it would give many of those styl...

Congrats notsosupernurse! My license number finally showed up yesterday morning on the state board site, so I am officially a RN !!!! I went today to get the pre-employment drug screen and physical for my new job. Sooooo excited but terrified at the...
