  1. How come my name doesn't appeared on the CNA Registry anymore?

Sending it in 3 days before the expiration may not have been early enough. I'm sorry.
  2. CNA's, Favorite department to work in?

I've worked in rehab and in LTC, and LTC is far and away my favorite. I love knowing the residents, knowing their favorite foods or music, or when it's their birthday.
  3. LTC CNA vs hospital CNA

I work at a hospital in a building that is half rehab and half LTC. There is definitely a difference in attitude and morale in rehab vs. in LTC. The people in rehab are busy, but helpful and for the most part cheery. They really work well as a tea...
  4. 2nd shift CNAs (3-11), what are your routines?

    Thank you so much!
  5. 2nd shift CNAs (3-11), what are your routines?

Thanks, this was the exact type of info I was looking for. Very helpful!
  6. 2nd shift CNAs (3-11), what are your routines?

I'm a brand spanking new CNA at a rehab/LTC facility. I'm working the 3-11 shift. Can any of you please share what your routines or schedules are for this shift? I'm just trying to get an idea of what others do, hoping that maybe I can glean ideas...
  7. Waiting for phone call after second CNA interview at hospital

I applied for a position at a hospital on 10/4 and was not hired until 11/8. I was warned after my interview that the HR dept. for this particular hospital was very slow and that I may not hear anything for a couple weeks. Most hospitals now have an...
  8. For those CNAs who got hired straight into hospitals...

The only job search I used was Indeed. I checked it at least twice a day, sometimes more. It included jobs that had been posted from all 3 of my local hospitals. Go to your local hospital's website and create a profile. It most likely will requir...
  9. CNA hours during Nursing Pre-reqs

Hi! I'm not in that situation, but a hospital I recently interviewed with said that they had a few CNA openings because some of their current CNA's had moved to part-time to go to school. My CNA class instructor has worked at another local hospital...
  10. Is going for a NAII worth it?

Right now I'm a CNA (NAI) in the state of NC. I'm not in a position right now to commit to a nursing school schedule, so that's going to have to wait for a bit, but I've been entertaining the thought of possibly doing an NAII program. I did my NAI ...
  11. WakeMed/Rex Differentials

    That. Is. Awesome.
  12. Pearson VUE Candidate Handbook

I'm in NC, and EVERYTHING was based on that little blue handbook. We had to memorize all the skills and all the steps of the skills exactly as they are in that book. Your state may be different, so I'd definitely contact someone and ask.
  13. Practical Hairstyle?

When I was in clinicals for my CNA program, I kept my hair up in a bun that I made with a ponytail holder. There's also a product I love called a "Spin Pin." It's made by Goody, and it's two corkscrew looking bobby pins. You twist your hair up int...
  14. An odd staff member

Sounds like he's just looking for somebody, ANYBODY, to listen. Maybe he doesn't have any friends and he's just kept all of this stuff bottled up inside because he had nobody to talk about it with. Honestly, I think he should get some counseling or ...
  15. New CNA II in NC, new job! Need advice...

I had heard great things about those too, then I heard lots of stories about people developing knee problems from them. I guess the only way to know is to try them out!
