From what I researched, its about 40 people that get accepted, and the rest get put on the waiting list for the next term? I'd love to know about how many people apply though

I think my cumulative was an 89 or 90%. It doesnt really matter what your score is, as long as you get atleast a 75% in every subject. After you apply, your name is put into a computer and 40 students are picked at random. Good luck on the HESi

    leelee-

make sure you brush up on converting fractions to decimals, and converting decimals to fractions.
touch up on ratios, they are very easy with multiple choice.
    ie

    1:5::10:x

solve for X... I had a bunch of these with multiple choice.

learn how many pints are in an ounce, ounces in a gallon, and pints in a gallon.

learn converting millileters to leters and kilometers to meters.

I had a few, "which is larger...1/3 1/2 2/3 ect ect" make sure you know fractions

I had multiple word problems, just read carefully, they are usually simple multiplication and division problems.

I had add these numbers together...odd because there is a calculator

I had mulitply these numbers...still use the calculator lol

Add and subtracting of fractions, with and without whole numbers

I had to get this in writing while it is still fresh in my brain...if you can learn these before you go (again this was for the hesi-a2) i would almost bet you would get at least an 80 or above.

feel free to add to this list

I am not really sure if it is hard to get into or not...Im taking my lunch break in a minute and I'm going to call the school and ask..I will let you know when I get back

Thanks! I overstressed way too much about it lol. I would just go in relaxed and calm and you should do fine. Passing the test doesnt really do anything for me, still going to be a challenge to get accepted

    a very bittersweet test lol

I dont consider myself super smart, and here was my story.
I took the entrance exam last night, not bad at all.

Math: brush up on converting fractions to decimals, and vice versa. Learn military time, if you dont know it. Learn how many oz-pints-gallons ect. I got a 92%

Vocab: hardest section to me, and I suck at math, pretty sure the words were made up lol. Used a ton of medical terminology and made it very confusing, also did this section last, so I was tired. I got an 84%

Reading comprehension: stupid, time consuming but easy. I honestly just stared at the screen for like 2 minutes because none of the answers were that good. lol. I got a 98%

Grammar: Pretty easy. A lot of "which word is not grammatically correct" type stuff. A little bit of a headache, you just have to pay attention. I got a 100%

This was for the HESI-A2, just thought i'd share my story

I posted this in LPN section before I realized there was an AZ section.

So I am going to take the HESI-A2 or HESI-2 (forgot what its called) tomorrow in an attempt to get into the Maricopa Skills Center LPN program. There were a few topics about this school on here but were a couple years old.
The website says it requires 75% on all subjects to get in. (math, english and a few others) How hard is this school to get in for the January 2012 start date? Say I got 75% like it says, would those scores actually get me in? I'm just really curious how competative it is, and if I have a chance.

Also, it says if you are a CNA you can bypass the first 14 weeks or so, and the start date isnt until jan 2012. So if I were to take my CNA before then, would I be eligible for this?

Thanks in advance, I'm very curious!

Ya we should keep in touch, that would be cool. I have so many people in my class that complain so much, and it really bothers me. They dont seem to understand that nursing school is a ton of work, and a huge commitment. Im not completely quitting my job, just going down to 2 days a week, but I am definitely ready to quit all together if I need to. My parents have been paying out of pocket so far and will probably kill me if ever fail a class, haha.

How are your instructors? Mine are all pretty good, with the exception of my A+P teacher. (maybe its just because I hate that class though )

    2008pn likes this.

2008pn, so we started at the same time, so you know exactly what I am going through. I have 8 LPN's in my class right now...and they have told me that this program is exactly how their LPN program was. I put in my notice at my work, it is seriously just getting a bit overwhelming, and I didnt do so well on an A+P test haha. I still have 5 more weeks to boost the grade up.

    good luck
