I am curious and would like to know how your unit makes their nursing schedule. I believe that the way my floor does things is incredibly inefficient... once a month on schedule day, the nurse that is in charge of the schedule calls each individual nurse throughout the day to pick a schedule. The list is divided into 6 groups and the groups rotate each month. I just hate to have to wait around all day for someone to call me to make my schedule. And, if I just worked night shift, I want to sleep and not be bothered! We do have a lot of staff but there has to be a better way. How do you do yours?
Does your hospital/unit assign different nurses for clean (immunocompromised, transplants and such) and dirty (isolation precaution) patients? Does the CDC recommend this? Any evidence out there about it? Thanks for your input
Unfortunately it seems that pay is horrible all around Nashville...
and their starting pay???
Hello! Is there anyone who currently works at Vanderbilt that could give me some insight into their benefits? Specifically, I have heard that they are changing their tuition reimbursement. What are the requirements for this benefit?? I'd also like to know about retirement stuff. Thank you!!
I'm getting anxious too! The GRE actually ended up being alright but I am still waiting on my official scores. I have not applied anywhere else-- this seems like the perfect program for me! I'm not in OH, I just moved to TN from PA with my boyfriend so the online program would be great
Anyone know how hard it is to get into OSU's MS program? I am applying for the online FNP. I am just nervous, especially because I have to take the GRE and hate standardized tests!! Anyone?? Thanks
Wow thats great Zippy7! I am very hopeful to get off the wait list. Which track were you selected for??
I ended up getting waitlisted for adult critical care.. ugh.. I don't know what to think
I'm waiting too-- I thought they were gonna send all the emails at the same time! I'm so nervous!! Good luck to you guys on the waiting list...
well, they did ask for both nursing and cumulative GPA so i think you might have a good chance! good luck!!
I had a 4.0 cumulative GPA in my BSN program. I had a nurse internship last summer and assisted on a research project in school. I am a member of sigma theta tau and was really involved in my sorority. hope this helps
anyone have their interview yet?? mine is tomorrow and i'm nervous!
Yeah, it would be so amazing to be at Vanderbilt.. I want this so bad! I am afraid for the questions they are going to ask though.
I am interviewing for adult critical care. I have no idea how many people they are interviewing/accepting but if she tells you then let me know!! It seems as though they got 364 applications from the email that some people got, which is less than I expected I guess. So who knows!
Awesome!! What track are you applying?? Sorry to hear about Colorado. They came to my campus to interview people but I didn't end up going through with the application because it sounded sooo competitive, haha.
