Nurses, are you feeling burnt-out, full of despair, or even addicted to various distractions?

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Do you feel powerless to do anything about the way you live and work as a nurse?

Modern life has left us with 2 choices; changing or staying the same.

1. Numb Yourself to death to continue living the modern nurse life.
2. Find and Fix yourself to Free yourself.

It's up to you...

I show how to get back on track after burnout; love life again & put your needs first using a few simple strategies.

I got good at numbing my PTSD and chronic pain because I didn't think changing was an option.

I am a nurse. You can't quit who you are? Right?

For years, I put others' needs ahead of mine even though I knew it was slowly killing me.

  • I prioritized everyone else's health and happiness.
  • I didn't see any way out of the life that I had so carefully created so I kept pushing forward.
  • Numbing the despair by binging mindless things like Internet, TV, Food, Sex, Alcohol, Medications, Drama, Drugs, Games, fun and so many other distractions becomes the normal way to deal with disappointment and stress.

Trying to feel better without real action leads to distrusting ourselves as the shame builds.

The reality was that nothing would change until I got my head out of my *** and changed it.

Today, I write about how I went from numb to alive to help nurses see that they can start over and find a sustainable life that they actually want to live.

Since Covid I have seen a massive increase in the number of Nurses struggling to the point of suicide so I am showing up.

Here I am, transparent and vulnerable, shining a light on the path out of this madness.

I Understand how hard it is to talk to someone who has no idea what Nursing is truly like so if you would like to book a time to discuss what you are dealing with don't hesitate to reach out.

In the meantime, Here are five simple strategies I use every day to make sure I nurse myself first;

   1. Keep energy levels fully charged by healthy eating and getting good sleep.
  2. Ask myself if an activity or product will hurt or help my health before doing it?
  3. Use your time mindfully so your needs can be taken care of without overthinking.
  4. Build an ideal dream life one step at a time and don't forget to enjoy living it during your life's journey.
  5. Balance helping others with taking care of yourself.

Do the same for yourself by joining me here on LinkedIN and by joining me for the
{Go Nurse Yourself} Newsletter every Friday with the link in Bio.
