    Thank you nursej22, what you describe is what I have experienced as well. When patient overflow occurs there may be a delay in care which is the primary concern to develop this protocol which would prompt those newer nurses.

    I agree with the many other nurses who are appalled at this behavior. If there can be good from this experience may one thing be that you will remember and never treat a new nurse like this. Be the nurse you know you can be! "Attitude is Altitude!"
