Sallie Mae collections found an acquaintance of mine through Facebook. She had listed her place of employment. The collection agency faxed her office to verify employment.
I understand how you feel, hospital nursing is not my cup of tea either.
You don`t have to work in a hospital, you can stick with hospice and home health.
LPN is very different in Canada from the US. So I've requested your thread be moved to the Canadian forum.
We have plenty of discussions on LPN nursing in Canada.
I'm an LPN homecare supervisor for a contracted agency. I love my job. No day is ever the same and I work with some terrific people. I do a lot of teaching which is my favorite part of my job.
I keep my FB locked down. I also don't use the FB app due to lack of privacy.
So I typed "discrimination" into the search box on AN and got 11,000 results and multiple pages of threads.
The point of doing a search is that it can bring up some very interesting threads in which all types of discrimination have been discussed.
You also have to consider that people may not want to rehash their experiences in a new thread when they've already aired their experiences in a previous thread.
Have you done a search here on AN? I know there are threads on these topics
Why was this complaint even passed on to you?? Ridiculous.
Is nursing what you want to do?
Low pay is just one of the many reasons I left Florida
You should read this information on Canadian permanent residence before you make any decisions about returning to Canada. Understand permanent resident status
Please read all of the threads discussing this topic
I looked at the processing time for skilled worker. It's something like 3 yrs. Maybe by that time we'll need more nurses from outside of Canada
There are loads of threads on this topic. Take a look through the forums and you'll find all the information you need
