I'm sorry this process is taking so long, it's impossible not to be anxious. They are not finished hiring, there is hope!
My daughter was asked to join the July 11 cohort. She asked if she could be place in a later cohort.
(She attended college in SF, then flew SF to LA to interview.
She returned to Seattle-home base- & received the phone call with conditional offer (backround check, physical done at CS).
They wanted her to start immediately 7/11 but she still had college stuff at SF, gear needing to pack in Seattle, & grandparents she hadn't seen in ages, and wanting a little break between college & work (which of course she didn't mention). CS said they would check into switching her out of 7/11 (they ultimately switched her to 8/15--they didn't suggest 7/25). . People who are offered conditional employment need to provide: 5 reference (lor were previously provided), drug test, criminal backround, & go to CS for a physical. My daughter will go Wednesday for a physical. Maybe not all applicants are passing these components? With all these components -- it takes staff to pull it together. Am guessing the 4th of July had many people taking vacation before & after. Now, things should become more streamline. I'm thinking of you all & keeping my fingers crossed!!!
Does anyone know if this hiring process is the same for non-new grad nurses?
I am in the same boat you were in when you wrote this post. I am graduating from an accelerated BSN this may and I desperately need help with my resume. My first degree was also in communication. I was wondering if you found any really useful websites for preparing your resume? I don't have any experience except for my clinical rotations and I don't know how to incorporate them into a resume. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
I am a nursing student graduating in May from an accelerated bsn program. I am trying to apply for RN residency programs. To apply for this program I need a resume and I do not have one related to nursing at all. So I am starting fresh, my only problem is that after I finished my first degree I took prereqs from a bunch of different schools. Do I need to list all of these schools in the academic section of my resume? If I were to do this it would easily take up half the page and I am trying to keep it to one page. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you TammyG for all the info. I really appreciate your honest insight into the program. That kind of information is usually hard to get ahead of time.
I signed up for the 24th and am coming from NorCal. Anyone else going on this day?
I got an interview! I am sooo excited!!!
4everstudent, my stats were: 3.6 gpa last 60 units, 4.0 in science, 87% TEAs, and no in hospital experience although I do volunteer for a hospice organization.
Amberos, I also think you have an excellent chance of getting in at your spot on the wait list.
Thomasj619, the envelope was not white. It was a few different shades of blue but mostly a very pale blue.
Good luck to everyone that is still waiting to hear!
Hi everyone! I applied to the ABSN for Fall 2010 as well and I am going crazy waiting to hear if I got an interview or not. I was just looking at the email I recieved from Laura on Feb 5 and I noticed that it said this:
"Application Completion Status
As applications are reviewed this month, notifications will be released either confirming application completion or notifying you of missing materials or additional information needed."
I never got an email confirming the completion of my application. I was just wondering if anyone received a confirmation email or not? I am worried that they never received my application or something. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I just got my acceptance packet for the Oaklan summer 2010 cohort! I am soo excited!
Does anyone know anything about the international health certificate option for ABSN students? When I click on the link it just goes to information about the bachelor's degree. I am applying to the ABSN program and I am really interested in international health issues. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I am also thinking about applying to the ABSN program at NYU. I would be very interested if anyone had any information about the average gpa. Also, does anyone know how much taking a few online classes would hurt my chances of getting accepted? It says something about it on the website but I was wondering if any one had some actual insight on this. Thanks!
So I recently took the TEAs and got 87.1%. With 97.5% in reading and 82.2% in math. I am not sure if I should retake the test again and try for a better score or not. I am trying to go to a school in California and I know it is really competitive. My GPA is only a 3.6. Any thoughts from anyone?
