  1. Ohio University RN-to-BSN Program

Maybe this is the answer. ? Extra paperwork to send to switch over. Still I hope to be working soon.
  2. Ohio University RN-to-BSN Program

If I'm between jobs should I do the "outreach" RN - BSN at OU or just the online RN - BSN? I wonder what the difference is. Can anyone tell me? I just emailed an advisor. I'll post if I get an answer.
  3. what do you think?fired for a comment

Very good point. OP, I too wouldn't offer my opinions on this firing while at work. ...But there is no need to be fearful of getting fired too as long as you do your own job well.
  4. what do you think?fired for a comment

My 2 cents: In most states you don't need a reason to fire an employee so I don't agree that the fired employee has strong grounds for a lawsuit. Agree that the admin or someone probably has another (or other) reasons for wanting her out of there. ...
  5. Attention Nurses....

    Good idea.
  6. fired... where can a bad nurse go to find a job?

I seriously doubt that you're stupid. Being a nurse is unbelievably stressful, confusing at times and hard. Nursing has to be one of the hardest jobs there is.
  7. Why is it so hard to get a Job?

Because almost every unemployed is told to go into nursing.
  8. NCSBN commercial

Agree. If one makes a mistake they claim they are addicts to avoid having a permanent, public national record of the error.
  9. I'm thinking about dropping out of nursing school...?

Your mom is correct about the over supply of new grad nurses. Also consider that your nursing school is not accredited. Plus you seem to have an aptitude for Accounting. It's is one of the best careers out there. Accountants working for insurance...
  10. Finally understand the Facebook no-no's

Agree! Your co-workers are stuck working short due to the whole in the schedule your calling in created while you are obviously well enough to be posting on and reading facebook. I don't blame the co-worker or NM for asking you about this.
  11. It seems like floaters are in high demand?

In my area floaters need at least one year of recent acute experience too.
  12. Nursing in the next 10 years

Nurses in hospitals will still have heavy care and high acuity patient loads because it's all about profits. Hospitals and nursing programs will continue to use political clout and tell the public and PTB that there is a "nursing shortage" instead ...
  13. Steps of becoming nurse

I agree with Caregiver. If you are serious you should talk to RN's about the job market and their working conditions. Maybe volunteer to see if you like the actual work. I also believe in going straight for the four year BSN. It is a much better r...
  14. How Can Hospitals Afford Not To Hire?

Agree. In my area the hospitals started hiring freezes and huge staff lay offs well before the economy tanked. They fired all LPN's and cut back on most of our support staff. Many unit units started working with out a secretary and with fewer CNA...
  15. Sky, I started reading the comments from jobless RN's on the link you posted. Depressing.
