About CaitlinLiz

CaitlinLiz has 10 years experience and specializes in Forensics, Trauma, Pediatrics,.

My name is Caitlin. I am 30 years old and live in Fairbanks, AK. I am a Forensic Nurse serving in the Emergency Department of the only hospital for the surrounding 500 mile radius. We see victims of sexual assault, strangulation, interpersonal violence, domestic violence, child abuse and elder abuse when it arises. I love my specialty and I don't foresee that changing until I'm so old I can't make it into the courtroom to serve my patients! I currently hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and I am part way through my Master of Science in Forensic Nursing. I intend to complete my Doctorate in Forensic Sciences after completion of my master.

  6. Advice needed about clinical instructor

What I understood from your post is that you know that you are unsure of yourself sometimes, and that you want to do better. That is the first step forward. It sounds to me like your instructor might just notice that you are unsure of yourself and be...

  11. Nursing Pin for $115

In my opinion, something like a nursing pin from graduation is a big deal. It is something that I would spend however much money as necessary on. That pin holds all of your memories from school, and it is a constant reminder of the fact that you did ...
  12. annoying lab instructor

While reading this post, I saw both sides of the situation. As a once very shy student, I can say that I totally understand that being called out in class when it is visible that you are not understanding a subject can be very frustrating (especially...
  13. Does your facility encourage to work while sick?

Unfortunately, yes. I have been a CNA for years, and every facility I have worked at in two different states pushes for their employees to show up for their scheduled shifts, sick or not. There was a time where I had Strep throat and had been given m...

  15. Clinical instructors that aren't fond of one another?

Yes, yes and YES! We have 4 or 5 different instructors, all of which have different views on things and teach things a little differently. They disagree often and a lot of times make it known to the students. It is difficult because each teacher teac...
