  1. Something wrong with this picture.

The mom should've been called back by the office staff or the doc to discuss treatment options. If not she should have requested it, I would never discuss my childrens care (no matter what age) in the waiting room. As far as the cost, I'm in GA an...
  2. Pyxis - The Ultimate Fomite

I do the alcohol trick...so far haven't seen anyone lick or wipe their finger on their face, ears, etc and hope I don't...yuck.
  3. Working part time?

I work prn and love it. I give a couple of different managers my availability and they schedule me. It allows me to work my schedule around my 4 children. Part time works well if you don't need the benefits which I don't.
  4. I work in acute care in GA, in my facility the initial assessment must be done by the RN. The data (all the med/surg history and pharm list) can be collected by the LPN. Our pts do not necessarily get an RN assessment Q24 hrs. We do primary nursing w...

  8. im selfish? hmmm

Her comment was inappropriate and rude. It is a personal choice. Why should she care, it doesn't affect her one way or another.
  9. Ironic:No Healthcare for Nsg Homes

Our insurance is over $500/mo (family coverage) and we definitely don't bring home the big bucks. The extras like getting nails or hair done, or having dinner out occasionally have to be carefully budgeted in. Alot of times we can afford what we ...
  10. Ironic:No Healthcare for Nsg Homes

What I wouldn't give to pay just $25/month for health insurance. I don't know anybody who pays that little. I agree in this instance I think the fault lies with the employees not the NH, afterall the NH is covering over 95%of the cost.
  11. What DO we do...really?

My sisters husband was like this--thought all she did was hand out a few pills and write a few notes. He had no clue what nursing entails. Always complained that she didn't want to work extra pulling a double or giving up her days off. Even when she ...
