Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I know we're all really excited! I hadn't thought about taking courses prior to starting since I am not in the area--but an online course might help. My name is Megan and I'm from Houston..where else is everyone from?
Is anyone starting in the CRNA program at UPenn in May 2012?
does anyone know where they're going to park for orientation? i think it would cost a fortune to park in the garage all day...
I registered for my courses last week-and yeah it took a whole 2 minutes to just type in the numbers on the degree plan..it was really simple. I also went and got my ID badge because it says we should get all that stuff taken care of before orientation and I wasn't going to be in Houston again until orientation so I got that taken care of..it was really simple too-it took all of ten minutes and now I feel actually like an official student with a UTHSC badge! Just time to wait until orientation!
I haven't gotten anything else yet--did the new packet have any additional information for registration/orientation? My registration date is this tuesday so I guess I'm just supposed to register for the courses on the degree plan? I haven't gotten any information other than that. Is anyone else registering soon/this week?
August--good question, I was wondering the same thing. I think we should get all that information in the packet that should be in the mail soon...If not, we should all collaborate so atleast we all wont look out of place!
All this information is so helpful! I'm looking forward to orientation and meeting everyone! I wasn't going to buy that package but I was going to look around..anyone have any suggestions for comfortable shoes?
Yeah I filled out FAFSA and need to apply for loans. Everything is coming very quickly! On the scholarship info, I just estimated the living costs/medical costs/etc. In the one page statement, I kind of explained them but nothing itemized or even singled out, just rough estimates.
I am planning on using my laptop-It is just a Dell that I have had for a little of four years now.
I also filled out the scholarship application and submitted it and got a "Thank You" email from Mrs. Richardson almost immediately after, so hopefully they will start processing it soon! On the SON homepage, it says they got $1.2million for the next four years for just accelerated program so hopefully they will be giving that out.
They just received my letter of intent today so I'm guessing after they processes it, I should get the email that talks about registration and tuition and stuff and the packet should come in the mail soon.
I'm getting so excited! Congrats everyone!
The drug test was pretty simple. I registered and paid Sunday evening and then I got an email (sent from them at like 4:30 am) that I was scheduled to test Tuesday, March 31 at a center in Houston anytime from 8-5. I'm currently still in College Station so I just called the customer service number on Monday morning to see if there was a testing facility closer to me so I wouldn't have to drive to Houston. They took my name and called me back and located a testing place near me and asked when I would be available to go take it so I just did it yesterday. They were really easy to work with and seemed very flexible.
I didn't get the email..and as far as I know we don't have UT email accounts. I haven't heard otherwise.
Anyone interested in starting a new thread for accelerated to help get us through the holds/orientation? This one is so long and complicated!
I'm in accelerated too..and I also had a random drug test today! When you said you got an email for registration-where did you get it from? and When? So far the only thing I've received is the packet.
ncemt-I have no clue, I would just call and ask them
And I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet either! But hopefully the letter will tell us when orientation will be!
Yeah I saw your acceptance on the other thread. Congrats again! I don't know when we need CPR by, or the rest of the immunizations. Im hoping the letter will explain more..but I'm just excited to get in. Putting our BIMS degrees to good use. Do you mind if I ask what have you been doing since graduation? I was looking into other options incase I didn't get in and I was just curious for other options. Are you currently living in Houston?
Congrats again on getting in. I was thinking of starting a thread for all the accepted accelerated people just so it wasn't so confusing with everyone else. Do you already have your CPR certification? The UTHSC website says they are offering a course on Good Friday, I was thinking about attending that one. I still have to get everything else in order too though. Have you gotten the letter in the mail yet?
Se7en and Shih:...when did you guys graduate? with what degrees? I'll graduate on May 16 this year, then ten days til the start of this! yay!
