  1. New and currently enrolled at Rio Salado

I took the medical terminology class too. It did help open up the medical world for me a little. I've never worked in any medical or clinical setting, so all of this is completely new and foreign to me. Have fun with that 8 week BIO156! It was crazy ...
  2. If you are flexible with which schools you are willing to go to, then you can probably expect a three or four semester wait. If want to get in sooner you can apply for the Banner program, and hope to get an interview. Those who are waiting three year...
  3. New and currently enrolled at Rio Salado

Ok, most importantly, don't take CHM again, unless you have to! I just finished that class, and not only was it not that much fun, I don't think very much of it is useful information for nursing. I would, and am going to, take Pathophysiology while ...
  4. Mom of 3, deciding to go for it, but where to go?

Thanks for the congrats! When I turned in my application I was asked if I wanted to see an advisor or just turn in my app (at the Tempe Rio you can just walk in-no appt.). I checked with the advisor to be safe. All she did was check my transcripts in...
  5. Mom of 3, deciding to go for it, but where to go?

I, also, am a mother of three, with my oldest turning five in a couple days. I started my pre-reqs in 2007, at Rio, when I was pregnant with my youngest. It was a challenge, for sure, but I was able to make it work. Happily, I just submitted my appli...
  6. The Circumcision Discussion

Our first son was circumcised because my husband wanted him to "look" the same as him. I wasn't thrilled about it, but allowed it to be done. With my second and third, my husband agreed to not getting them circumcised. I don't really see it being an ...
  7. How about a thread for baby names you liked?

Well, I gotta go with my boys' names, of course: Braden Christopher :redbeathe, Damon Charles :redbeathe, and Seven Pierce :redbeathe. Other names I like for boys are: Dax, Devin, Davon, Ryker, Gage, and Boden Names I like for girls: Myla, Bridget, ...
  8. BIO 201 at Rio Salado

Oh, and I have one more tip that might help on the multiple choice portion. Try to remember, or go back, to previous questions if they talk about the same muscle, or whatever. I've noticed that sometimes one answer can clue you in to the other. That ...
  9. BIO 201 at Rio Salado

Hmmm...the final did have a lot of questions about the nervous system. I remember there was a question about the flexor and extensor of a particular movement. I don't remember which one though. Just dedicate yourself to memorizing all that you can, s...
  10. BIO 201 at Rio Salado

Well, for some reason, the first half of the class made sense to me. So, I did really well. After the midterm, however, there was so much information that I could not keep up. It was really hard for me to actually learn all this information in the ti...
  11. Pathophysiology? Should I take it??

    Do it!
  12. BIO 201 at Rio Salado

Bio 201 is a lot of information to cram into your head! I was able to get enough in there to pass with a B though. I would just recommend using any extra time you can to read the chapters until you understand the info.
  13. Questions for CHM 130, BIO 156, and BIO 201

Why not take them through Rio as well? I took BIO 201 there last semester, and am currently taking CHM 130. They have a Summer I and Summer II, so you should be able to fit them in somewhere. :wink2:
  14. Pathophysiology? Should I take it??

Do you have all your co-reqs done? I'll be applying for NS when my classes are over next month. My plan is to finish my co-reqs in the fall, then take some classes (including Pathophysiology) while I'm waiting to be accepted to NS. I think you should...
  15. Are there any drawbacks to attending Apollo or Pima?

That's so true. That's why I wasn't really sure about going to Apollo. When you consider that it's tons of money, and is not really considered as good as the community colleges, it doesn't seem worth it. I am just so anxious to get started. However, ...
