   I started out as a new graduate in the NICU 28 years ago, its the best thing i ever did. I agree an extensive orientation is important. as well as on unit the mentors its new nurses. Good Luck to you:)

   I used the duoderm on time for a Micro preemie whose skin was so easily broken done nothing else worked, it was the first time i tried it and a bit of an experiment but it worked very well and protedted the skin better than tegederm

   Hi, In our NICU we are not allowed to use our own, each baby has there own at the bedside for infection control. They were not the greatest but recently were upgraded.

   Hi, we used to use feeding tubes but now we have catheters intended for urinary catheterization. We have sterile containers that we give to our Mom's for the breat Milk. Hope that helps:)

   Our discharge planners are workign on this, but already one home care company can not provide this, so i am doing alittle research of my own to see what i can find out. thanks for the suggestions

   Thanks for the reply, this is not an electric heating pad, she has been on for weeks in the hospital with no problems, Social services is working on it, but so am I, anyway thanks for replying
