  3. Is active FL license necessary to begin work?

When I started placing app's at facilities, I came to a screeching halt b/c I didn't have my temp lic in hand. A woman from Adventists' over in the Altamonte Springs/Longwood area said even though I had applied and Florida State cashed my check, I w...
  4. Best Florida city?

During hurricane Charlie, I frequented the Orlando Sentinal website, including the discussion boards on that site. I learned alot about Winter Park and Altamonte Springs without ever asking a single question re: best town to live in. The locals were...
  5. I'm seeing "Florida License" in bold letters in alot of the classified job listings. Does that mean the facilities want you to have your endorsement complete and Florida license in hand before you apply?
  6. Best Florida city?

Thanks for the linx Marla. =) It's looking like I'mma have to rethink the move to Central Florida b/c I'm not hearing back from ANYONE on jobs and meanwhile the clock is ticking. I have to be out of my place by 9/30 since the landlord is selling t...
  7. Best Florida city?

Good points and I appreciate your candor. Now that Charlie beat me to Central Florida, the whole move might have to be postponed indefinately. With 1000's homeless, I'm going to have a hard time finding a place to live.
  8. Best Florida city?

Hi Cheryl! Yep, I'm thinking that Altamonte Springs would be just right for my family. If we decide to move again in the near future, I think I'll have a fair chance of reselling a condo. Everyone says we'll be coming back in a couple of years. I'v...

Suddenly I'm not so excited about moving to Altamonte Springs! In fact, if I will be forced to take a 5/hr pay cut it might not be do-able anyway. after snooping around, i settled on Altamonte Springs b/c of better schools and less crime than my cur...

Hi again folks! Short update: I'm still interested in moving to Louisville, but was held up by 2 unexpected events. A change in my Mom's health, and one of my son's need help this winter... hopefully I can get back on track and find myself living ...

cg6303 I was investigating the Wilmington area while I toyed with the idea of moving there (last year I began the process of applying for endorsement, all I had left to do was send off the fingerprints) but have postponed the move indefinately. My ...
  13. Introductions

A pal in Lexington suggested I check out the Shelbyville area for a home, and since that's half way b/t Louisville and Lexington, I can be flexible about working in either. I am currently working at a privately owned, 100 bed facility that 'hand p...

You can't leave me hanging after a comment like that!! Go on and give me the details, please :) I've worked short often enough up here in CT, too. What qualifies as "incredible" ?
  15. CT income tax question

It depends if you're going to be able to claim dependants or not. 23% sounds right, tho. I claim one exemption, use head of household status and out of an earned 650.00 I take home 500.00. Hope that helps.
