Finding this page a little late but wanted to say congrats to everyone that has made it in! I'm starting the FNP program in the fall, but unable to make it to orientation. Anyone else not able to go?
  2. St pete college fall 2013

Just want to let you know the clinical sites for Level 1 are generally not the same as the other levels. Level 1 focuses on assessment and basic nursing skills, so generally its the rehab centers level 1 gets stuck with. Schedule to pick from are a...
  3. SPC Spring 2013 hopeful, anyone else biting their nails?!?!

Terecil - contact the nursing office, or go there bright and early Monday morning. Not sure if you know where the nursing office is, but its upstairs, go down the long hallway from the stairs to the back, hang a right and its on the left. They'll l...

SPC2012 - just bring a notebook, a couple of pens, and if you want to - your recorder. Once you receive your calendar you know which books to bring on what days...for level 1 it seems like you're always bringing at least 2 or 3 books every day. Goo...
  5. SPC Spring 2013 hopeful, anyone else biting their nails?!?!

Just a quick note not to stress over completing every item for Certified Student Profile - your instructors will review your portfolio and you are allowed a set time frame to have everything completed. I believe it must be complete by the time you s...

Log into Angel, click on College of Nursing. Go under Lessons/Schedules tab (everything you need is under here as far as ATI, book lists, schedules, etc) and scroll to the bottom where it says Modules/Syllabus. It's by course number so just click o...
  7. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

You don't take it at orientation if I remember correctly. They tell you to sign up for a certain day and time, and then you go in on your scheduled time. It's not pass or fail, they just want to see how prepared you are for nursing school, what you...
  8. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

Erica1223 - for every semester it varies. I know the semester I got in the lowest was in the 3.6 range. That was over a year ago. Not sure how it is now, but its been known that spring is easier to get into than the fall. Don't feel like you have...
  9. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

You do not need your skills kit on the first day. The first day they go over your syllabus, calendar, books, what is expected of you, etc. On your calendar it will state when you need to bring certain items, including your skills kit. Good luck!
  10. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

It is very hard to find all white shoes, but if you have some light specks of grey they aren't that picky. I found all white Skechers last summer at the Skechers store in Clearwater mall. They actually have quite a few that are basically all white ...
  11. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

Soontobehope...yes, you need a copy of everything you scanned into Certified Profile. It has to be put into your portfolio binder labeled with tabs. Your instructor will check this portfolio every semester. As far as due dates for units, once your...
  12. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

It seems like every semester the bookstore is behind in getting skills kits in. I know some students didn't get theirs in until after school had started when I first began. The first one or two skills you don't need your kit, and instructors are co...
  13. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

kmb624 - it would be a new thing they are doing if they are adding it into your skills kit. the steth, bp cuff, penlight, scissors, etc. are separate from your skills kit. your skills kit only includes what you need for skills check offs. everyone...
  14. SPC Nursing Fall 2012

No problem! I'll let you know. I do my re-certification in a year, so I'll definitely let you know where I decide to go.

I also believe you now have to have all your pre-reqs completed before you apply to even be considered. I would definitely check with an HEC advisor on this, but I know they have changed the rules this year for new applicants. Good luck!
