  1. LPN Salary

I've been wanting to get into nursing for years. I made the wrong decision to get into teaching! One thing holding me back is how long it will take to get an RN, and the pre-req classes weren't offered during my summers off or at night, so I've been ...
  2. Does anyone have a Bachelors and still pursuing LPN??

Don't feel bad about it. I have a BS in education (big mistake!) but oh well, who knew I'd only get to teach for 2 years and then get laid off? I could spend a year doing pre-reqs, and, if by some miracle, get into a ABSN program for another year, bu...
  3. UCF accelerated program in Orlando?

thanks jcarlisle6, that's good news for me! :yeah:congrats to all who are going to ucf!
  4. UCF accelerated program in Orlando?

I have a question about UCF since I'm looking at them for a ABSN. Did you take intro to chem or do they want general chem as the chemistry requirement? When I get closer I'll call and ask, but it'd be great to have an idea now. Thanks!
  5. Nursing or radiography?

I've seen postings here about hospitals having hiring freezes/new nurses are having a hard time finding positions. I want to make the best choice for a long-lasting career in healthcare.
  6. Nursing or radiography?

Hello, I'm working on pre-reqs for nursing, and it seems the shortage is over in FL based on the postings here. I really want to stay in FL and work in the medical field, so I'm wondering if I should get an AS in radiography instead? Is there more of...
  7. Keiser University RN Program

To Nurztob, The one I'm looking at has provisional accredidation. That's why at the bottom of the page it implies that other universities won't accept its courses. That's why I'm wary of Keiser. I hope they get full accred, but until then I'm applyin...
  8. Keiser University RN Program

I've heard they're no accredited, which means your degree won't be "real" as in other colleges won't accept it if you want to move to a BSN or MSN someday. As long as you pass the exam, I think you'll still be a nurse.
  9. Hospital-based programs in FL?

We're facing multi-million dollar budget cuts. Manatee County had a 180 layoffs last year I was told. I'm in Sarasota and we've been told about 200 positions will be cut, so that means we're probably going to have layoffs unless 200 people retire or ...
  10. Hospital-based programs in FL?

Hi, I'm an about-to-be-laid-off elementary teacher in FL due to budget cuts, not job performance. Anyway, I'm looking at it as a positive event: I finally can become a nurse! But I'm really sick of school, and would love to just train in a hospital....
  11. Hello, I'm currently working a decent paying day job as a teacher (making almost $40,000), so quitting for nursing school is not an option, especially since I'd never get back in given the economy here in FL. So here's my problem: I want out and want...
