  1. Fort Worth = Population Boomtown!

I absolutely loved Fort Worth when I visited DFW several times! Mostly everyone was so friendly...strangers smiling, waving, and saying hello. Now, that's unheard of where I'm from! It was a pleasant culture shock for me. The downtown area, I believe...
  2. Sick and tired of the AAS BSN debate

There are some new BSN grads that post here venting that they are unable to get jobs without experience. So, not all BSN new grads are able to obtain employment w/o experience.
  3. anyone starting RN to BSN program at UTA in November?

I start classes in November. Activating the school's email is pretty easy, they will email you step-by-step instructions. Registering for classes were easy also. If you're familiar with registering for classes online, then it's pretty much the same p...
  4. If you failed the CPNE, how long did you wait to retake it?

I believe you can retake the exam as soon as you pay the $1900 and can get another available date. I've read that a student was able to retake it 2 weeks after the 1st unsuccessful attempt. Good luck!

  6. Newbie to site! Excelsior student working on Chronicity!

What I liked about Study Group 101 is that I can print out everything that's on the CD; Lisa Arends have restrictions on what can be printed out. I also found Study Group 101 to be a little more organized and easy to read. I gave myself 2-6 weeks to ...

My personal favorite was Study Group 101.
  8. Newbie to site! Excelsior student working on Chronicity!

Don't let the negative comments about Excelsior deter you. There will always be skeptics of Distance Learning programs. What's important, is that your state accepts Excelsior. Distance Learning is becoming increasingly popular, with hundreds of "trad...
  9. The University of Texas at Arlington

No, it doesn't follow a traditional semester. If it did, it would take me about 5 years to finish the program taking 2 classes at a time with my 9 general ed courses and 9 nursing courses. But there are some RN-BSN programs that follow the traditiona...
  10. The University of Texas at Arlington

I have 9 general ed courses to complete. So if I take 2 classes every 5 weeks, I should be done in no more than 18 months.
  11. The University of Texas at Arlington

I'll be starting UT-Arlington's RN-BSN program next month. My first 2 classes are Technical Writing and Professional Nursing. I will keep everyone that is interested in this program up-to-date on my progress through the classes.
  12. So much negativity towards Associate Degree Nurses

Excellent post! Thanks for your response!
  13. Some LTC facilities have hospice residents that stay there until they pass away. There were a few residents I've taken care of that was followed by a hospice agency. There will be a nursing assistant that will come to the LTC facility to do bathe the...

  15. So much negativity towards Associate Degree Nurses

I want to thank all of those that replied. I agree that more education is not a bad thing, but just because someone doesn't have a BSN, it doesn't make them incompetent, which some members here are trying to prove. Instead of reading the negative gen...
