@jonesgeo I don't think our Co tracts are as competitive as those of RNs. I'm in dialysis and outside of NY state I feel that I'm mostly used as a tech. The 1 agency that I work with I feel they compensate me well as far as take home and car rental. Other agencies try to low ball me. My assignments are usually 3 months. I extended at my current assignment and it's been 6 months. We electric charting at all the facilities that I've been

It depends sometimes it's not bad other times it's a wreck. I'm a traveling LPN. I thrive off of the chaos when it gives me OT. There's a bit of drama involved. You just go in do your job and then go home

@citimedic if excelsior grads can't be endorsed in Cali how did you work there? Did you become endorsed before they made these strict rules?

Citimedic where did you receive your license? What places have you been?

That's right higher cost of living, there are other places that have the same climate has cali. It's not about it being cheaper. I travel and I don't stay in one location to finish a degree. I don't want to stop traveling for 2-3 years to get my degree. Excelsior let's me work and go to school. I don't plan to move to California. I live in MY and when I decide to stop traveling I will stay in NY. So yes there's a possibility that I will limit myself.

Thank you Delynn for your response. I could 2 caps about not traveling in the state of California but for some reason people think that's all that matters.

Sorry I didn't read all the responses. You don't have to accept it. What they will do is black list you from working with any sub company under the AMN umbrella. They did it to me 2 years ago.

Hello fellow travelers. Being that I am a LN who travels and am trying a different way to get my RN while I traveled. I wanted to ask are there any excelsior graduates who travel? I haven't met any so far and just wanted to see if my 1 year plan will work with going thru excelsior.

I think I'll actually make LESS once I pay for somewhere to stay. Can anyone tell me how you find cheaper housing???
Lower some standards. When I travel im looking to be comfortable but not like im living at home. As long as I have a tv and a bed and internet then im ok

I travel all year round except tge beginning of the year due to facilities being in denial of needing the help. I use the money given to me to move me and my family

I wouldnt say traveling is all that, but its super fun and I love it. Someone said it best if you cant stay in one place then travel is good for you. I take my family and I get my own housing and pocket enough money to live comfortable as a lpn

Start with paid housing, travel, and meals. Would you believe the agency also pays for every hour you work?

Best deal since high school with paid everything, an allowance, and keys to the family car! And no parents to cramp your style.
NedRN I find you to be hilarious.
