   Sounds like to me that you meet their qualifications but they have not started accepting students formally yet. So I would wait for a leter and I would call now to get clarification as to the deadline of when you might recieve that letter.

   I would buy a pair of the best walking shoes that you can find. New Balance, Reeboks, Nike, whatever fits your feet the best. You need a new pair every 6 months or so because they breakdown. Good arch supports are what you need!
