I was in FL when I applied for licensure by endorsement, so when you request the application, the Board sends you instructions for if you are out of state. I got fingerprinted for free at my local sheriff's office and sent in the paperwork with the f...

Yeah there's no nursing shortage in NJ with hospital closings right and left. I've been looking for a job for 2 months now here (north/central areas) and I've gotten no luck. There are hiring freezes at some places too! Yes there are 2 VA hospitals, ...

Well I requested the application packet in the mail since I was in FL at the time and same thing with the hard copy they sent, it said continued on reverse side, but there was nothing. So I don't think there is one! Maybe someone else knows for sure....

I think it's variable. I scored high on my ATIs and passed NCLEX no problem, but someone I knew who scored as high as I did failed and two people I knew who failed the ATIs and had to retake them both passed NCLEX first try. The main thing to keep in...

You know, it's crazy, but schools should really inform their students about job prospects BEFORE graduation. I graduated thinking I would be interviewing hospitals and places, picking the right one for me. Yeah right! I have since learned that as a n...
I've heard good things about Tampa General. Two students I went to school with were both techs there during school and now both of them are in the ICU internship program and loving it! Also, it's closer to you than Bayfront.... Good luck!

Where are all their patients going to then??? I don't understand how so many hospitals can close without new ones opening. How can the remaining hospitals take over that load? This is crazy! I'm surprised he got away with it! There would be a riot if...

While I wanted to get into nursing because I have a strong caring and compassion side to me and feel more fulfilled taking care of people than anything else, I was also looking forward to the doubled pay. I was making $10-11/hr in my previous job and...

I gained 15 lbs in nursing school. I went from being a healthy, thin girl to a bloated, chunky girl. I haven't started working yet (not getting started on that here) and am stressed out by that and a iminent divorce, so I've put on 5 lbs since my Dec...

Have you guys looked into nursing homes or LTC? I know hospital experience is preferred, but just to have something??? I'm going to be moving to NJ soon, but since graduating in DEC and being a new grad myself, I haven't found a job here in FL only b...

I can say something about this. When I was in nursing school, my instructor had the idea that for same clinical days, we would experience a different part of the hospital support system. One of these was the lab. They were very happy to have us since...
Whatever they ask. My application (FL) was very specific in saying what details you need to include. I found the state board of nursing website very helpful. Here is what you need to fill out; I got this directly from their website, this is on the ap...
Don't listen to the lawyers. I have spoken to reps from the NCSBN and I have spoken to people who have been through it. If you do not disclose it, and they find it, they will turn down your application for that. Then you can try to appeal, but every ...

Where in FL are you? I'm in Tampa Bay and both USF and SPC offer the BSN program and I've seen requirements for both and I don't remember ever seeing anything about personal liability ins. Did you look into University of Phoenix? It's all online, but...
I'm not sure about OH, but here in FL, they tell you if you do not disclose what happened, and they find it out, they will most likely turn your application down. It's best to be honest and forthright than to not be able to be an RN.
