  1. Is nursing for me?

I have longed to be a nurse for quite a while. I struggled to get in, like many others have. I worked as a CNA (hence the name), so I thought I understood the role of a nurse from observing my former RN/LPN co-workers. Boy was I ever wrong. I am real...

  3. When would be the ideal time to start the lengthy application process? Before you pass boards? While still in school? Just curious.:nuke:
  4. changing major from nursing to english lit?

Follow your heart, even if that means giving up the parental help and taking out student loans. You won't regret it. College is all about personal growth, and it seems you have found yourself in English lit. Be proud!!

Good point. I know how that waiting list can be. You can't put your life on hold for forever.
  11. Kaplan University student

What small town? Are you near Beatrice? If you are at all interested in going on for an RN, I would go to Southeast CC for the LPN, or at least for your pre-reqs so you can save yourself some money and transfer credits later.
  12. Just got my acceptance letter to start in Jan 2009. Yippee! Anyone else out there?
  13. It is me or them!!! I can't stand it anymore!

Have you ever worked as a CNA? Perhaps they have too much to do. They aren't superhuman. I work my tail off, and it is never enough.
  14. PhD REQUIRED for CRNA's?

I don't see how this is possible, since a PhD is a research degree. Perhaps you mean a clinical doctorate? It seems possible, since that is the direction NP is going.
  15. I would like to brush up on my nursing-related math skills before I start NS. Can anyone suggest a book for self-study?
