   I'm on a surgical specialty floor (we don't do purely medical). Days is 4-5 patients, nights is 4-6 patients. I normally have 3-4 fresh postops on my list.

    I think part of the issue is MY dislike of my schedule. I definitely think he feeds off of that energy so maybe I need to make a better effort to accept the suckiness of it.

    I've done 12 hour shifts and I now do 4 9 hour shifts. I much prefer 12 hour shifts. It's not necessarily burn out that way... I think it's more exhausting to have to physically be at work for 4 days instead of the 3.
