  1. Saturday February 12 2022

Morning- It's been a bit since I posted. Work has been all consuming with our staff shortages. I'm a provider, an allergy shot giver, a prior authorization person, my own medical assistant all rolled up in one. We have hired a few people and ...
  2. Saturday February 5, 2022

Good morning- Cold and icy here. We had freezing rain for most of the day yesterday. Ugh-I'll take snow any day over this mess. I might just stay in the house all day and do laundry and read. Tweety-It does suck being so short staffed. ...
  3. Anyone prescribing Ivermectin or Hydroxychloriquine?

    No.
  4. percent of billing or equity in practice

I am an NP working at a single physician owned private practice. I have always been paid a straight salary, but I would also like to ask for a percent of what I bill. I bill more than any other provider in the practice, including the owner. I don'...
  5. What kind of Career Options are out there?

You could look for a position in a Functional Medicine practice, which focuses on wellness but still incorporates allopathic medicine.
  6. NPs and Being On-Call

I work in an outpatient specialty and am on-call 1 week a month. It's by phone only; I never have to go in. Most weeks I don't get called at all. It really doesn't impact my life at all.
  7. President Biden thread

I thought it was a decent speech. Not historic or absolutely memorable, but it was solid. It was nice not to hear crazy diatribes or self aggrandizing rants. I also loved seeing 2 women on the podium behind him. I'd give him a solid B.
  8. President Biden thread

No, Trump was always, and will continue to be "Trump First".
  9. Outpatient Specialty Offices

I'm an NP working in outpatient Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology and I certainly do notate any abnormalities "outside my lane" and refer back to PCP, or ER if appropriate. A lot of what I see crosses over into Derm, Rheumatology, ENT, etc, and I will...
  10. The Impeachment of Joe Biden

I still can't get my head around those who think Trump is the victim here, and he has done nothing wrong. I really think Trump supporters have been in some kind of moral or ethical coma for the last 4 years.
  11. The Impeachment of Joe Biden

What I really love is how those who think the election was "stolen" in certain states are only complaining about the presidential election. If there are ballots missing, shouldn't the other races on said ballots be questioned also? I haven't seen t...
  12. Masks and lockdowns are only effective if people are compliant. I still see and hear of people having large family gatherings, parties, etc. People are also not wearing masks in public 100% of the time. So, there is still going to be spread as lo...
  13. President Trump and the First Lady Test COVID Positive

It's hard to not say "I told you so". I certainly don't wish death or anything horrible on ANYONE who gets this virus. My hope is that people will stop with the whole "Covid is a hoax" nonsense and now the country will take this virus seriously. T...
  14. Boston Area NP Salary

I just got the same response from a Boston hospital, despite having 8 years experience in the particular specialty I was applying for. They only cared about my total years of practice. I would think the ability to pretty much hit the ground running...
  15. Farewell Esme - In Loving Memory

I'm so sad to hear of Esme's death. May her memory be a blessing to all who love her.
