  1. Oklahoma City University

I was accepted at OCU and had to decline. It was going to cost me $53,000 (just for tuition, not including books, the required laptop, uniforms, etc.) and I have undergrad loans to pay for. I decided on Grad School instead. (in a different field) ET...
  2. Got into nursing school, but can't afford to go

Yes, I have considered the military as well. My husband is military, so I just don't know how that would all play out. I am planning on going either the ADN route OR BSN OR LPN to RN. I am not so concerned with having a BSN since I already have a B...
  3. Kramer School Of Nursing

If you are talking about the one at Oklahoma City University it costs around $36,000 per year if you live on campus. I was accepted there for Fall '08, but will have to decline as it would cost me $52,000 to complete my BSN. (I already have a Bachelo...
  4. Got into nursing school, but can't afford to go

Yes, I have looked into scholarships at two area hospitals (so far!) and they pay about $2,000 per year. Nice, but at the cost of OCU it is such a drop in the bucket that we would still be on the hook for so much of it. I'm still looking!
  5. Got into nursing school, but can't afford to go

Wow, I guess I really phrased this the wrong way. What I was trying to say is that, already having student loan debt from my undergrad I can't imagine going 50K MORE in debt for this program. Maybe some would see that as "giving up", I don't know. I ...
  6. Got into nursing school, but can't afford to go

Who said giving up? Just surveying my options here. I am applying to OU's Bachelor's to BSN program as well as all the other programs out there. ADN vs. BSN doesn't mean a whole lot to me. Heck, I don't even care at this point if I end up doing LPN t...
  7. Got into nursing school, but can't afford to go

I found out last week that I was accepted at Oklahoma City University, but found out today that I can only get $12,500 in loans and it will cost $13,000 more than that each year. (already have a Bachelor's, so we are only talking two years here, but ...
  8. So many questions re AF Nursing

Thank you again! CRNA is EXACTLY where I want to be eventually!
  9. So many questions re AF Nursing

Thank you! I don't consider getting a year of experience post-graduation (and licensure) as a Catch 22. I wouldn't mind that at all if I helped me get to where I want to go. (namely, Germany!) So, what you are saying is that as long as I am realistic...
  10. So many questions re AF Nursing

I am applying to four nursing schools this year. (taking Chem, Physiology, Nutrition in the Fall semester.) I have a Bachelor's of Science in Gerontology. I am applying to Bachelor's to BSN programs. I am interested in the Air Force. My father and al...
  11. Have you ever heard of this? UGH!!!!

No, not exactly that *I* felt ridiculed,......I just inititally felt something along the lines of,"hey, I did that and *I'm* not a total freak!" I do get that it seems (and very well just may BE) really weird! I, too, reserve the right to laugh at To...
  12. Have you ever heard of this? UGH!!!!

I can see that this is not a popular opinion here, but, here goes: As someone who has suffered post-partum depression and who was willing to do ANYTHING to ensure that she wouldn't have it again......I did it. Yes, I ate a bit of my placenta. (I had ...
  13. doctor won't approve my birth plan...

This makes me SOO angry! The problem is not that "your doctor won't approve your birth plan", but that your doctor thinks that you need his/her approval!! It is YOUR body. If you don't want an IV or even a heploc THAT IS YOUR CHOICE!!!!!! This is ex...
