   Our policy is 2 nurses check and sign. I work on a rehab unit and if the patient draws their own up we still check and sign. Makes it difficult when you can't find the second nurse to check but I understand why we do it.

   Ratios are number one with me too. Also floating to units that are so different skill wise. Very stressful to send a rehab nurse to ICU or Oncology. Would rather be mandated home than float. Never happens that way though.

   I work in a 19 bed rehab unit. We do everything from head injuries, spinal cord. ortho and CVAs to name a few.Our staffing is set at 2.3 hours per patient on days, 2 hrs on eves and 1.5 on nights. It does not take into account acuity, admissions etc....
