  1. Entry Level LPN jobs - Raleigh, NC

I'd send you a PM but you won't receive it since you don't have 15 postings yet. I'd also recommend the High Point area. When I was first applying, several facilities called me within 1-2 months. I was already working by that time though. My facility...
  2. Entry Level LPN jobs - Raleigh, NC

Can you move? A lot of nursing homes in my county (Alamance) hire LPNs without experience.
  3. don't know what to do

I agree with the previous poster. I felt like crying when I first started working LTC. I thought I had made a big mistake and felt I wasn't cut out for it. But you end up adjusting over time. It probably took a year before I became totally comfortabl...
  4. Why did they give an LPN new RN's to be trained?

Apparently, my facility wasn't notified, or is this a new rule just for hospitals?
  5. CA/ State Prison RN job question

It can take several months to receive an interview appointment letter.

    Thanks for posting.
  7. Medical Privertization

Racjanet, What state are you in?
  8. LVN license

In CA, expect it to take 4-6 weeks unless you go and pay in person. Maybe things have changed since I received my license in 2009.

Thanks for posting this link. Just put it on my Amazon wishlist.
  10. Should I take a caregiving job?

Personally, I would take it if you are currently unemployed. I don't think it would count as paid LVN experience, though.
  11. Easier to find a job in the fall?

I have read that there is generally more hiring in the fall but I don't know if this extends to healthcare.
  12. Surprise In My Pocket - this ever happen to you?

I work in LTC. Yes, I've done this. I just toss them and don't think about it. You especially can't do anything with them since they are crushed. If you were to return them to the pharmacy, they would simply toss them as well.
  13. Networking in NC

I graduated from an LVN program in CA in Dec 08 and ended up moving to NC because I could not find a job. Anyhow, since you have a BSN, you should find it relatively easy to find a job. I overheard a few soon-to-be graduate nurses (RNs) complaining a...
  14. With regards to private schools, I should add that there was a time (which I apparently missed) where it was a non-issue as to which school you graduated from. This is no longer the case. In general, I believe private schools are vastly inferior to c...
  15. Here in CA, which schools tend to be most recommended? I don't know but stay away from for profit schools. Do most accredited LVN schools have prerequisites? For profit schools generally don't. CCs sometimes do. How long does schooling for LVN tend ...
