   You could work as a unit secretary/unit receptionist. They put in orders answer the phones, place calls to docs. It would help you get the feel of the hospital and unit and help you get a job later on.

    I always give 1 month notice. I was told in Nursing School this was the professional thing to do. However, I have never been put in a situation such as yours. I would proabably give at least two weeks.
