  2. Nursing Wearing Sandals To Work?????eeeeeeeekkkkk!!!

I wear sandals all the time where I work. I'm in a State Mental Hospital. My toes are covered and usually I have my heel covered also, but I always have an ankle strap of some kind. If I cannot run in them, I won't wear them. I agree I am still at so...
  3. crib mattresses

Somebody in Management needs to get their sh*t together before a child gets injured over some negligent/cost effective decision. Or they are going to have a HUGE lawsuit on their hands, not to mention, IF they posess hearts, a whole lot of guilt. It...

  5. atypical antipsychotics

EVERY patient that I have witnessed being on Geodon has been taken back off, because it has been ineffective. I have been very disappointed in this drug. Abilify is being prescribed a lot more often now, and I have mixed feelings about it. Risperdal...

A few weeks ago, an email was found on the table in the team room at work. The address has been scribbled out, so I am not sure of the source, but am pretty sure of the hand writing that stated, "Please read". One of my fellow nurses must have left i...
  10. ? Men on Depo Provera ? Help ?

holy cow!!!! $2100!! I used to be on that for endometriosis.... the cost has increased! It was $300/injection then. Anyway... that's off topic. I am suspecting that the fact that you were told that his hx was not your concern, is reason enough to ...

good luck to you!! I'll be anxious to hear how it's going.
  12. 3 - 11 shift

I have to agree with 123Pollynurse in that second shift gets the majority of the addmissions, with ALL the paperwork, and they are more lively (to put it in a NICE way) in the early evening. I'm not sure if it's a second wind or what. We have found ...

  14. Abilify

Geodon is a joke... as far as Abilify, we have been using it in Peds. I'm not seeing anything dramatic however. I think it is a shame that these drugs are prescribed as soon as they are on the market, BECAUSE of the marketing.
  15. Update: He was really slow going as far as recovery, needing pain meds around the clock through day 6. Then he started bleeding, A LOT. And they rushed him back into surgery yesterday. He also had a gut full of blood, some of which he vomited, the re...
